All caps and no breaks in the sentences makes it hard to read.  Besides it appears that you are YELLING at us.  We didn't do anything wrong.

When you posted the last time you were informed about the problems of calling some random number for ebay, but it seems you are still doing so.  I'd be very cautious doing so. 

 

This type of issue occurs occasionally on ebay, and unless you are qualify for the limited protections offered for a faulty return where you can deduct up to 50% of the refund, there isn't much that can be done.  Ebay doesn't have a tribunal to determine which party is lying. 

 

I know you have been kindly asked to type your posts in a manner that can be read, but you feel it is your right.  So don't be offended if many feel it is their right to not try to read it.

TLDR:

 

I sold a clock and it was switched by the buyer.

 

All you can do in that instance is setup a return, wait for it to be returned and refund when it arrives.  In some cases you can deduct up to 50% of the refund if you meet certain criteria with the original listing.

 

Then report the buyer for cheating you out of your original item and funds.  Block the buyer and then move on. eBay will not get in between a Buyer said and a Seller said.   They will almost always side with the buyer in a case like this, even if you have photos and proof.

 

You can appeal the decision, but I still recommend following the steps above.  Setup return, receive the item, refund the purchase, report the buyer, then file for an appeal.

 

In this particular case, you are probably going to have to eat this one and accept the lesson as it sounds like its already done and over with.

Unfortunately, there are many scammers on EBAY now and they have figured out how to get items for free.  EBAY will not protect you (they will rule in favor of the buyer) and you will get a "defect" against your account for appealing the case.

 

USPS did nothing wrong and they would never pay you because the customer "switched items".  Only time USPS would pay if package was lost.   USPS claims they pay if item is damaged in transit (that is a bunch of baloney...they never pay and require you to show them item and packaging for inspection (they always blame the Seller for poor packaging). 

 

Sorry this happened to you, but this is all part of selling online (sometimes you win and sometimes you lose).

should have been handled differently but too late now......

you accept the return, within the required time and without involving ebay (at that point)
when it arrives, you take photo's and file a complaint

then you reach out to customer service.

this should be done within 2 business days.

in a case like this, provided your seller status is good and you did everything you were required to do
then you are covered. It's called buyer fraud.

Not everyone knows how to handle it right out the gate, chock it up as a learning experience.
when tax time rolls around, write it off, refunds are written off as a deduction
