I have a buyer who bought a cap message me and say "Please refund, item arrived dirty and not new!!" They included these photos.
Am I missing something here? I don't see anything wrong with the cap in the photos given that he only took photos of the bill. I don't see any discoloring or sun damage, nothing. I mean I do see a bit of tiny dust specks on the sticker but come on. That dust can be brushed off.
I replied to the buyer that I'm not sure what area he is referring to when he said "dirty" and if he can elaborate. I even asked if he was referring to the dust on the sticker. Then I said regardless if they don't want the cap just return it to me for a refund since I have free returns.
He comes back with "Just give me a partial refund and I'll keep it and regift to someone else." What the heck?! He dodged my question completely. So I just straight out told him "Why don't you just regift it to me and I'll give you a full refund?" Ha ha.
Still waiting on his answer.

Can always count on you for that predictable take.

There's nothing wrong with the hat per the photos - no one is going to actually wear it with that big sticker on it. If he won't even return with FREE returns, he wants a discount IMHO.

You don't see the large spot in photo 2, surrounding the black fleck? I'm kinda surprised since you sell CSA too. I noticed it right off the bat.

I think it's a shadow artifact. The little 'spot' is just a piece of stray thread. Also, the photos keep focusing on the sticker, like there is some problem with it, but I don't see any problem.
Wish we could see the original sale.

Out of focus lint was placed on this hat by my child after unboxing. Please give discount

Overall, the hat looks good & doesn't appear to have any dirt. However, the sticker does show some specs of lint or dust....nothing major. Then, photo #2 there appears to be a loose colored thread. Again, nothing major to say the hat is dirty. Ask him to open up a return & move on. Don't give him a partial refund.

I am going by personal experience. I have at least 15 hats similar to that one and they are all used, the majority have tags and look new.

Haha. So you say your used hats look new and my new hat looks used? Thanks for the clarification and details of your statements. Leave it up to the hat expert over here.

Yes, of course. Because this is a posting ID you have a hat store with much better hats than everyone.

I am proudly showing a red donut because I refused to refund and let the "buyer" keep the item. She claims the logos on some Corelle bowls were worn off. Sorry but logos can be funny from day one on Corelle pieces. Plus there was nothing wrong with the bowls.
I say tell them return for refund if you are sure there was nothing wrong with the hat when shipped. That second photo does look blurry around the spot. Probably was once a sticker of some sort there.

Maybe he just wears them with the tags and stickers on them - the Minnie Pearl look.

That obscured area you are referring to is just a blurred aberration in the photo. Even the little speck of "something" is blurred. That "something" that the buyer is complaining about is just sitting there, it is not even stuck.
02-22-2022 07:37 AM
No it is NOT a stain or sticker residue. It is blurred because it was closest to his lens and not in focus when taking the photo. There is nothing there except a speck of loose "something".

Wrong. Look at the front edge of the bill, it is ALSO blurry. Again, this is only blurry because it was closest to the lens and not in focus when pic was taken.

the hat looks fine to me.so it has a speck.can you see it? I do
just take it back and skip the drama or difference of opinion
I would not have the guts to get into a back and forth over some spots that might be there or might not be
all you can do is offer a complete refund and just leave it at that
the buyer is just trying to yank your chain
