Buyer is wanting a Return on an item They "think" is not authentic What more can i do then reporting

Hi i normaly don't start a conversation i normaly step into others, but this is just making me mad. I sold a purse that is an authentic have had every detail down to the photos and the description. The seller just contacted me a day after getting it saying they want a return on it because they "think" it might not be authentic. I am dumbfounded. I have sold designer bags before and i know this is real. I have already put one foot in the direction of saving my butt by reporting the buyer for lying about the item as not described but what can i do from there. I am 100 percent certain of all the items i sell and have a no return policy in place as well. What else can i do. Obviously i am to block this seller afterwards but i am still ticked and antsy. I don't like being told i'm lying.

I have a buyer who wants to return some music because she doesn't "Like It." She also made some weird notes about not original and missing pages, but her complaint was "Doesn't like item." I don't give refunds for reasons like that, yet yesterday Ebay approved the refund. I wrote the girl a message which went with a "chill" regarding her request. I'm super, super mad about the same thing basically letting the buyers do what they want whenever. I've been in the sheet music business for my entire life, I turned 63 yesterday, and I get this kind of **bleep** on my birthday. I wrote Ebay a message telling them I would fight this tooth and nail. I'm so burned. How did you resolve the problem?

It’s best to start your own topic as you can see many are still replying to the op and not even seeing your post in the thread in order to assist you.  You’d get more assistance to your specific problem with a topic you start.

As for saying you don’t accept returns for this reason.  You most certainly do.  You listings state free returns which means you take returns for any reason and you pay the return shipping Cost as well.   Having that return policy authorized eBay to accept you your behalf.

Your information was really helpful. I gave someone their money back on a buyer's remorse situation and got a defect last year. I couldn't believe it. I got confused on this last issue, but certainly understand it more now thanks to your help. You're right about my Best Match placement with regards to anything, I'm having a going out of business sale now which may seem like it is unrelated to the MBG -- but I could run around in a dress with Ebay logos that would benefit them and still not get decent placement. I lose either way, because of the blatant Catch 22 to screw me over constantly. I think they hired someone to just watch my site and read all of my messages. My listings will begin to disappear magically now that I've spoken aloud about this issue. Paranoid you might ask! Burned the heck out! I'm just being polite now.

No need to get defensive, she was just trying to help. She also gave you correct advice. That's how it is whether you like it or not.

Do you really believe all of that will work to get another sale from this buyer? This buyer is in the chain-yanking business and will probably leave negative feedback to boot!

I cannot even believe on a Friday night that I'm on the community boards. Are you being helpful now? Who would know? I've got so much more I can be doing with my time. Excuse me!

Yet you are here berating people that are spending their own time in an effort to help you.

We may not always agree and that is just fine.  We often have different viewpoints from others.  But the Ebay rules are what they are.  None of us here wrote them nor did Ebay seek our approval for them.  But if we are going to sell here we must adhere to the rules.  Other posters were just trying to help you.  Nothing else.  Just trying to lend a fellow seller a helping hand.

I hope your future sales go much more smoothly for you.

Happy New Year!

LMAO, joke's on you, it is/was Saturday.

😕

Honestly, if you start your own thread you will likely get the advice you are looking for. I'm sorry you don't find this advice helpful, but it will likely get you the attention you need.

Not the first time an OP has started a thread because they were "sure" their bag was authentic, only to be told it wasn't.

I'd just like to add that buying and selling the same items on the same id is looking for trouble. Ask a question of the seller and they may retaliate on YOUR sales.

Always best to buy and sell on different ids to protect yourself.

Oh and let me just add, you got a buyer complaint on your birthday? My Mother died on mine. Some perspective is always a good thing.

Thank you! It was two years ago but she died unexpectedly on vacation in Europe. We think it was a blood clot that likely would have been found if she was here in the States.

I got a call from the country she was in and I thought she was calling me to wish me a happy birthday and it was the American consulate. BTW if anyone is travelling in foreign countries and you get sick, many of the consulates have programs to help people.
