Buyer From China

I do not ship international, so why are buyers that reside in China, but use a U.S. address allowed to bid on my items.  Can I cancel their bid and give the runner up (Who lives in the U.S.) a second chance offer?

Because a US address is in the US, it is NOT "international shipping".

So? It's still not international shipping!

All of your messages shows clearly even if a "buyer from China" with a U.S address you still won't sell to that buyer but rather sell cheaper to a NON China buyer, is clear discrimination and racist practice.  I hope this buyer find all your texts and forward to Ebay because these texts are proof you just don't want to sell to a Chinese buyer, no matter they have a U.S shipping address, which is no different than any "buyer from the U.S" and I hope eBay ban you for your racist practice.

You should put it in the listing:  "WILL NOT SELL TO BUYER FROM CHINA."

^^^ Not racist, not reportable and not discrimination! Although it's not a "blocking" BBL issue in this OP, sellers can block any ebay member for any reason or for no reason. But your "racist" allegations don't hold water.

On another note @realtypro8885 ,  you might want to review the "duplicate listing" policy regarding your own listings. https://www.ebay.com/help/policies/listing-policies/duplicate-listings-policy?id=4255&st=3&pos=2&que...

  • Identical auction-style listings are allowed if they:
    • Have the same start price
    • Have the same reserve price
    • Have the same title and description
    • Don't use the Buy It Now option

Re: Buyer From China

@allthingssurplus ,

It's only 1.65% of the transaction. OP is selling inexpensive items so it ill be pennies in extra costs. I have at 3 to 4 orders a week from foreign buyers and have never had a problem with any of them. I also ship directly to save my foreign buyers money by not using EIS.

Re: Buyer From China

I sell to China almost daily.  Yesterday I sold $1500+.  For me my items to China are $500 to $4000 a sale so the fees do add up.  This is the issue with the eBay platform, its one policy for all transactions and all transactions and Sellers and Buyers are not the same.  By the way I have only one bad experience selling to China in the past 15 years or the 24 years we have been on the platform.  If you do everything correct and don't use the eBay shipping system for international you will do just fine.

Re: Buyer From China

eBay will charge the Seller International fee if the Buyer is based in China.

The buyer does not have to be "based in China". There are two incidents where eBay applies the international fee.

If you're not using eBay International Shipping to ship your item, we charge an international fee if either:

  • The delivery address for the item (entered by the buyer during checkout) is outside the US, or
  • The buyer's registered address is outside the US (regardless of the delivery address for the item)

This fee is calculated as 1.65% of the total amount of the sale and is automatically deducted from your sales.

Re: Buyer From China

Which is exactly what I said.  If you deliver in the USA as the OP was stating and your Buyer has an international account you will be charged the fee

I don't think many of us here really care if the OP gets a big fat defect.

My error in translation by based I was assuming you meant located in China.

Re: Buyer From China

I recently spoke with eBay customer service about cancelling a transaction with a foreign buyer whose US address came up in the eBay community as a known scammer... they told me that if I used "problem with address" as the reason for cancelling it wouldn't count negatively against me.  Good luck.  I'm pretty much done with eBay because of all the foreign scammers.

Re: Buyer From China

the major problem with FF is that many will not sign for an item. many of the people who write support to this scam are in my opinion are ebay shills. they tell tell you that shipping to a FF and every thing will be ok. many are low feedback  sellers who have not sold enough to be unlucky  to loose money. if a FF will not sign for an item I will cancel as a real problem with the address the next time I get an order. the ones in Portland Oregon  are the worst.
