Buyer from Saudi Arabia?

I am trying to see a vehicle in the under 10k price range. I have someone from Saudi Arabia offering on it even it says local pick up.
Would this be a red flag?
Thank you!

Perhaps that potential buyer does not understand local pickup.  Or perhaps, he's an oil millionaire, and is willing to pay the shipping.  In any event, first thing I would do is contact him and explain what local pickup is.  If all he has done so far is offer, you can refuse the offer, unless it's like a million dollars or so.

Maybe he's registered in Saudi Arabia but living in the US.

@lary747

Reply to them and be firm about your requirements for pick up ONLY.  If they object, block them from bidding or buying:

Not necessarily. I would start with a short, polite note making it clear that the vehicle is located in Utah, and it will be his responsibility to collect it. You could add that, given that the price is below $10K, cash on pickup would be preferred, but that's up to you. Don't let the buyer dictate the terms, whether they're for payment, shipping or whatever.

Besides Local Pickup your listing also says this:

The whole point of selling vehicles on eBay is to a much wider buyer pool than if you sell locally.

The Persian Gulf might have the highest density of Mercedes vehicles on the planet so no surprise there. Shipping vehicles around the world using ocean freight is not really that expensive, probably about $2,000 from a US port.

FYI - Vehicle sales on eBay are non-binding, lots of opportunities for either party to back out if they wish to.

Many,

Many,

Many,

Children and young adults born in the Middle east live or work

  or go to school in the USA.

And many of them need transportation.

True, also true is that huge portion of the vehicles found in the Persian Gulf are imported by the owner of the vehicles as opposed to purchasing from a local dealer.
