This week alone, I had 5 buyers purchase an item only to come back moments later demanding cancellation and refund for reasons that are unfair, ex: “I just found it cheaper, I forgot I already had this, my son clicked buy without telling me” and more fun excuses. I find this absolutely unfair to sellers who use eBay as a way to supplement their income. Sellers have so many rules we have to follow, too many in my opinion; I believe buyers need to be accountable for their actions when they don’t ask questions about an item, pay, and then want their money back, or impulse buy and then realize they had the item already and many other excuses. It’s very hard to stay motivated to sell on eBay when this behavior from buyers is acceptable. Most sellers work hard daily to make sure our listings are in fine form, send offers, etc. We need better protection.

You are under no obligation to cancel. Wait the 4 days and hit them all with a NPB strike and add each one to your BBL

I think purchased an item means they already paid.
@vinylmoviesandmore if they already paid you can ignore and ship. But experience in here tells me that if they changed their mind and have buyer's remorse they'll just end up returning it. If they don't want it now they won't want it when they get it. Then you'll lose the shipping money both ways and they might damage the item just for spite, or to prove they have a reason to return it and get a refund. Then there's feedback .......
I would cancel and relist.

Wow - 5 in a week!
At least when you cancel, you can select Buyer cancelled, no metric dings.
To better sales this weekend/next week!!

“My cat really wanted it, hacked into my account and purchased it. When I confronted him, he pretended that he didn’t know anything about it and played dumb. But I had my indoor security camera and caught him red handed. Or should I say pawed. I told him he would be taking it out of his college fund, but we realized he doesn’t have one. He’s just a cat for gosh sakes. I told him that he’d have to work it off with chores, but he refused and said he doesn’t want the item anymore. So here we are, cancel the item. We shan’t be needing it.”

Have you ever been to a department store before? Just agree with them and forget about it and do something constructive. Look at the lay-a-way department in Wal-Mart. Yeah yeah yeah cancel relist cancel relist.

You're going to put yourself in the Poor House using a Reserve which is costing you a minimum of $5.00 and buyers hate them. Just start your auctions at the minimum you are willing to accept.

Received one today shortly after purchase AND payment. Second time in a month. No explanation accompanied the request. Already packed up. Didn't have to refund but did anyway. Both under $10. Not worth the **bleep** that is sure to follow. Now they are blocked.
