Soooo.... a week ago ebay finally lets us skip the UPC does not apply step (thankfully for those of us who NEVER use UPC) in listings but then yesterday its required again? Really?

Thanks tyler@ebay- I think the most important question is whether or not sellers need to revise listings in affected categories to remove "does not apply" and instead leave the field blank. If the answer is yes then the list of categories will be important- if the answer is no then the list of categories affected probably doesn't matter that much.
Hi @coffeebean832 - I heard back on a portion of this question and am still waiting for more detail, but what I've gotten back so far is:
Members don’t need to change any live listings, this is guidance for when creating new listings.
The rumor I'm trying to get validated is that a future enhancement will be to remove the 'required' field for UPC in categories where UPCs legitimately don't exist/apply.
So while I don't have a complete list available, it sounds like we'll be okay without it.

UPC is no longer required in categories affected by this recent change- see below.
Are you suggesting there will be additional categories added to this exemption?

Hi @coffeebean832, more categories could potentially be added to this exemption if categories don't apply or exist in that category. We don't have any further information about this right now, but changes to categories and/or item specifics that may go through in the future will be communicated to everyone.
