I got a defect put against my account for calling eBay and straightening out a buyer's return for them. This defect was applied to my account unfairly, and so I called eBay to get it appealed. Shortly after the call I receive an email stating that the defect appeal has been approved and that it will be removed from my account within 48 hours. I waited over a week and the defect was not removed. I called ebay and they said that they will put me in touch with the appeals department to set this straight before my evaluation as this situation takes me from top rated to below standard. After the call I received an email stating that the defect will be removed every Wednesday automatically as that is the system in place. At this point it has been two Wednesdays, so there is obviously something wrong with the system. The next day I call, and they confirm to me that the appeal has been approved and that it will be removed BEFORE my evaluation in the coming days. The evaluation comes, and it was not removed from my account, and it is now in below standard. I email them as they will not allow me to call again stating the situation and they say that there is nothing they can do with some copy pasted message.
I am beyond frustrated because I have been told multiple times that it will be removed, yet it hasn't and now I can't list multiple items, and all the other things that come with being below standard. Ebay will not give me the option to call them.
Has anyone been in a similar situation and knows how to fix it? Any help would be amazing.
Thanks

Go to facebook/ebay and send a message. They are very responsive and have fixed a few problems for me in short order.

Well I dont have any solution, but one defect put you below standard? That doesnt sound right.

My limited experience is that defects do not disappear before your monthly evaluation date.

I agree, there's more to the story. One defect won't cause a below standard seller level.

I have a total of 3 defects. One was where a buyer escalated it immediately after I told them to wait a couple days in order for the tracking to update, and another was from a while ago when I didn’t have any internet to respond to the buyer and so they escalated.

Never got Ebay involved in a return or refund, so can't be much help

Did you receive the defect in September? The evaluation for September will be on Oct. 20. If the defect was in August then I'm not sure what to suggest.

The defect was in July, I hadn't noticed as all of my metrics were good. After the one buyer immediately escalated to eBay in late August it put my account under, that's when I realized that this defect was on my account when it shouldn't have.

Good old AI(Artificial Intelligence).
I shipped something out...and gave a refund afterwards...and marked it as item not as described.
eBay gave me a defect as 'out of stock' which is not as I marked it.
I gave buyer a refund and an upgrade for free.
Buyer gave me great feedback.
I got a defect.
Did I pursue it?...no...because there is 'AI'.
But it was a lesson learned...
Would I do a return...nope...I would do a refund and tell buyer to keep item.
The defect changes every month...the more sales you have each month...the lower the defect will go down.
A lower defect rate might help...
Solution...sell a lot of .99 items with free shipping to get the defect down.
Your not selling enough to lower a defect...
Sell maybe anything....post cards...etc...to reduce the percentage rate.
Stickers....trading cards...anything will do.
That's the only solution I see...the defect percentage rate will dip per month on more sales OR increase per month on no sales.
Good luck.

That's because you cannot cancel
and mark it as "item not as described" -- that mark is not on the list.

.
This is it...and I don't send a link to someone...for this is what it states...no disrespects if you sell or buy...
I go by my selling and buying experiences and not links.

To be fair they said refund not cancellation.

Item is shown as not as described....it was not cancel because it was shipped.

THANK YOU! I messaged them and they removed it within a day, much more helpful than calling. Thank you very much!
