Anyone else just get opted in to the guaranteed delivery program?

I woke up to day checked my messages and found Ebay had opted me into the Guaranteed Delivery Program. I opted out but I am still waiting for the page to refresh. I want nothing to do with it.

It is still showing up on all of my listings.

@labs118

Thanks, labs. No way do I want to go in to even check some of these new options. Who knows - knowing this site, you might be opted into something else just by looking.

Glad it will never affect auction sellers!

(well, never say never here)

Thanks I did just get off the phone with customer service. All they said was that I had opted out snd it was all taken care of. Time will tell.

Thanks you to everyone that has offered help!

Re: Anyone else just get opted in to the guaranteed delivery program?

yup and that's not all - we lost the yellow logo for being TRP - also steering buyers away from my store - also not showing me all the promoted items in my store listing that belong to someone else - my friend in another state is telling me what he is seeing - it's making me sick

Re: Anyone else just get opted in to the guaranteed delivery program?

IPR I Imediate Payment Required for each item including shipping for each item. Items will not combine to discount shipping.

A few buyer's are contacting me about that now as well.

I just checked my listings this morning and they all appear to be normal as they were without the GD program. I do have my TRS badge on my listings.

Re: Anyone else just get opted in to the guaranteed delivery program?

I would like to know why everyone here on this thread so far is soooo afraid of going for the quarenteed delivery dates to at least test it.  If you have been opted in, then that means you have been consistently meeting the requirements for buyers getting their items on time and that if there is any problem as far as I know Ebay will cover it with the token they get and whatever else they do to support the seller. I will stay opted in UNLESS, I start having big problems with this, and these problems will be excessive buyer sending things back, because they are a day late, no fault of mine, postal delay/and or, numerous complaints on my messages from buyers who may get their items a day late because of the postal service. I certainly do NOT want to be responding to angry customers or loosing business becuase of this. It is worth a try to see if it works without many glitches.

Same here.   Even if a seller doesn't opt out,  GD is only going to be applied to eligible listings.

The USPS doesn't make any such guarantees, therefore, neither do I.

I view this as purposely misleading to the consumer.

It's also pushback--if I want to join an ebay program, I will sign up for it myself.

Being forced into anything on ebay always makes me suspicious, and usually rightly so!

I NOTICED MY ACCOUNT WAS OPTED IN IN MY PREFERENCES AFTER MAKING SURE IT WASN'T A MONTH AGO, SO THEY HAVE BEEN FRIGGIN WITH MINE TOO - I 'RE-OPTED' OUT

Hmm, that's odd. I'm pretty **bleep** sure IPR was a criteria for GD listings.

I wonder if you've been opted in to eBay's forced IPR as well?

@Anonymous

Explanations? Anyone?

Hi @ymeagainlord - I can clarify! Immediate payment is no longer required. If a payment is delayed and the guaranteed delivery date changes as a result we'll notify the buyer via email.

Thank you for letting me know what IPR meant.  I wish I could find a list of all the acronyms used.
