Another first

I ship these things in cardboard boxes so they don’t get smashed in transit. Here’s a buyer who is complaining that when they opened the box he saw the top dented in wanting me to resolve it. I already told him to return for refund. Should I also tell him that he can probably push it back out from the inside of the hat or maybe his head will do that when he wears it? Chalk it up with the few times I got complaints that the shirts I shipped were wrinkled when I folded and packed them.

Re: Another first

Tell him to put on his big boy pants, muster up all his substantial might and push the dent back out.  Seriously, where to these people come from?

Return for Refund is the correct reply. Its obviously buyer remorse because of course he can press it out again. I dont think his head will do that when he wears it because it looks like the hat has a stiffener panel above the bill that will resist pulling downward against the scalp.

Dont get drawn into any drama - and no partial refunds! Just say 'Im sorry that you are not satisfied with the hat. You can return it for a full refund.'

I wouldn’t be so quick to come to that conclusion. This guy is my buyer.

I sell ball caps and I always steam and block them, then custom bubble them (with those umbrella bags you find in stores' entrances) and ship in cardboard. Mine arrive ready to wear, display or even gift-give.

Assuming your buyer has no upright steamer, holding the cap over a steaming teapot will work. Maybe suggest that? Additionally, steaming/wearing/steaming/wearing, etc. will give you a custom fit fairly quickly.

Afterthought... an ill-fitting ball cap is one of my pet peeves. The cap in the picture can be saved.

Re: Another first

There are some snowflake buyers on eBay, for sure. Giving your buyer the benny of the doubt their IQ's higher than 70, (They realize they can press it back out) I would say it's buyer's remorse, and your best choice would be to just R & R.

Re: Another first

I had been thinking of selling caps, but now I might have to reconsider.😐

Yes as that would be a sure fire way to cause a conflict that the seller is likely to lose.

You did exactly what you should have done.  Has your buyer responded yet?

If you didn't understand, it was a very heavily sarcastic remark.  Obviously it is a return for refund situation.  Not every comment here is to be taken literally.

Ehhhhh....that's a pretty deep dent, from what i can see.  A good body shop may be needed to fix something like that....then a paint job.  $$$

Should I also tell him

I can only imagine what you would LIKE to tell him.

Yes, with a SNAD return. They haven’t shipped it back yet but it’s only been a day since I accepted it and provided the return postage and it’s still the weekend.

Re: Another first

Next time I purchase pants and receive them folded in thirds, I’ll make sure to let the seller know they are unusable as obviously I cannot fold my legs in third to insert them into the pant legs…

Re: Another first

Looks like the buyer pushed in the top and took a pic, trying to get a free item from you. With basically no effort, it could be popped back into shape from the inside. You win the best buyer lottery today. 🙄
