You are right when you say an abrupt and complete stop in sales.
The past 7 days have been a disaster here on eBay. A massive explosion in sales that total $5.15, LOL. Something has changed drastically and tweaking, lowering prices and using promoted listings on every BIN listing has done nothing for sales.
eBay, your system is broken. Why don't you hire a company that knows what they are doing to fix the search, the glitches and everything else that is wrong that has been going on for months with no end in site getting things fixed.
I also think that with eBay putting other sellers items in my listings is very wrong and underhanded.
If this sale pattern continues, I will end up not listing items on a failing site. I am sure not going to list new items when nothing is selling as it is a waste of time.
Maybe eBay just wants all of its sellers to leave so their buddies from oversea can buy the platform from them cheap, as it seems their messages keep telling sellers to keep lowering prices. NOT happening.

This is the saddest outcome of all of these changes. As eBay sellers, of OOAK items, we loved the hunt for items and the routine of listing and selling. eBay was more of a hobby, an enjoyable task with benefits. Now it has become a tedious chore, each day, I face the platform with resentments and frustration. This is no fun.

Looks like the platform is coming to its death - no sales for me either, and it is not just a typical summer slowdown - I had never seen anything like what`s going on on eBay recently. New algorithm and force of GTC (which is also correlated to no or slow sales) are the reasons for no sales on eBay.
Just be specific & less vague and copy & paste the section in the UA you are claiming that is causing this claimed slow down.
Straight from the UA and it's been c&p'd here a zillion times:
- To drive a positive user experience, a listing may not appear in some search and browse results regardless of the sort order chosen by the buyer,
Which doesn't mean anything really! Sellers here, like to point to it as a convenient excuse as to why they are lacking sales, like it can't possibly because buyers don't want to buy their stuff.
Let's just say for the sake of argument, that eBay may hide some listings. Does that mean that if all listings were seen, that sellers and eBay as a whole would get more sales? Of course not! There is so much competition, that buyers have plenty of options to buy stuff, and just because a few listings may not be shown, doesn't keep a buyer from buying.

You are correct. What is also correct is that ebay is taking it upon themselves to decide which buying options a potential buyer will NOT have. And the sellers of those listings have had their lives turned upside down by ebay suddenly shutting down their businesses. These sellers are scrambling to try to keep their bills paid.

This week is peak vacation time not to mention the very hot weather across the US. Combine that with the rise of other, more focused selling sites for many categories, e.g. Etsy, and one should not be surprised at slow sales. I do not have any one category that I sell in, I will sell anything I think I can make a profit on including items I don't even know what the heck they are ( I had to Google one item I recently listed) and yes, my sales have been a tad slow but consistent. I have never had any significant issues with the search function.
Wait to see if things improve after Labor Day. In the meantime read up on Labor Day and ponder why the holiday was moved from the Month of May to a date when many school districts are not even open yet. Ever wonder why perhaps yourself and the vast majority of Americans have no clue about the history of the holiday?

Someone asked for the specific wording in the UA. That person also read more, imo, into what was said about ebay hiding listings from potential buyers.
Some sellers do like to use that as a reason for slow sales and it's hard to argue against "not seen = not sold."
However, in no way do I believe that's the only reason a certain seller's items don't sell. I do believe that ebay has thrown a giant wrench into the gears in the past few months.

This morning I had a promotional offer of opening a free store for 2 months. Haven't looked into what nonsense this promotion is yet. Anyone else get this promotion?

That many watchers and zero buyers = bad economy, and that's only part of the problem. djdaniel
It's not the economy ,, this is a specific e bay issue . If people were that broke they wouldn't even be shopping and putting a watch on items like what I sell . Nobody NEEDS jewelry in the times of trial and tribulation. Furthermore the very exact same items I have listed here are also listed on other selling sites and they ARE selling quite well and at a bigger profit . They just aren't selling here . IMO,, there are many contributing factors to why sales are way down here ,, the GTC roll out , lack of advertising , search issues , glitches galore and payment problems . There's been too many cooks in the making of the e bay soup these days and it's finally caught up with them . This site needs a complete overhaul but by reasoned people who actually know what they're doing . Until the corporate greed and the serious mismanagement gets set aside then I'm afraid that those who choose to stay will be stuck with the status quo. Tulips

It is a daily occurrence now that I have to run to eBay to end listings because they sold elsewhere, often within hours of posting them.
It is RARE that I have to delete a listing that sold on eBay on one of these other platforms.
I mostly list now on other sites, my sell though rate is great, and prices are often higher there.
I just WISH I could still sell HERE like I can easily sell elsewhere.
And before anyone jumps in with the, "It's what you sell", it's not. I just sold an antique on a site that is geared towards 20-30 year olds 🙂 Bang! Gone in 3 hours. It sat here forever 🙂 Got top dollar for it too.
I miss eBay.

I just started selling on a regular basis the end of May 2019, and I was selling slow but steady. I at least sold 1-2 items a day during the weekday but most sales came on the weekend. 5-6 on the weekends. Then last Friday I sold 1 item and that was basically it for the week and the weekend....not. one. thing. Very odd because I have been selling decent on the weekends. I was thinking that something is wrong with Ebay? I have several watchers on things, and I send offers, and I get nothing?? I have even had several listings that had watchers just disappear?? I believe Ebay is doing something because I have always sold something! and now it's day 3 of not. one. thing!! UGH!!!! I will be resorting to other means if this continues. No point in having a store!. Feeling very frustrated right now!!!!!

It's not happening to everyone's sales.
Enough to warrant some changes though . Tulips

I also have watchers on my listings, BUT, the numbers have not changed for almost two weeks. I agree that eBay has done something. Maybe they want all of us to go to their "Managed Delivery". That will never happen here with my items.

Even worse - I just can't get motivated to create new listings nor revise old ones. kathieskorner
My only motivation comes from my other sites where I sell and they are where I begin now . If I'm not too tired or don't have anything else to do then I'll list here on e bay ,, but not really with the happy hopeful feeling like I used to have . Tulips
