New Listing Tool - Has Anyone Tried It?

I tried the new listing tool & immediately switched back after trying it once. The amount of clicking I had to do to list one item was frightening to say the least.

I list one of a kind items & it doesn't work for me.

Does anyone know if it's an option or will it be the only listing template to use on Ebay?

The goal of the new "unified" listing tool has been to retire all of the other versions (Quick lister for newbies, Business lister for seasoned sellers, and mobile lister), and have just one version serve all purposes.

Re: New Listing Tool - Has Anyone Tried It?

TOO MANY CLICKS, EBAY. ARE YOU READING THIS? CLICKING HAS INCREASED BY 300%!

This is not sustainable. Do the math, eBay:

More clicks = listings take longer = less listings = less sales.

We are running businesses here and DO NOT HAVE TIME to click 3 times to change a brand name, an MPN, a shipping option, a package weight, a package dimension, add an offer... What an absolute pain, I really hope they listen to the seller feedback. What a gut punch.

@idoovad

I agree it is too many clicks. Have you considered using the spreadsheet uploader?

There's an option top of page to switch back

No. I list one unique item at a time.

Re: New Listing Tool - Has Anyone Tried It?

One thing that I hope the moderators notice and pass along is this.... Notice the feedback scores of all the many prayers about hating this new listing tool...... These are very experienced and valuable long time sellers here on the platform, not just new sellers with limited experience. LISTEN TO THEM!  It is free advice that should not be ignored..... A unified listing experience that is not optimized for the device does not work...... That is why none of the other companies out there do that!

I flipped it over and looked at it and got an instant headache. I flipped it back for now. Every now and then they change stuff and then you have to sit there for a few hours and figure out how it works again. I use only an IPAD so I hope that when I have to use this it works. Nor sure yet.

The old layout looked much better to navigate especially with ALL the item specifics we all need to be adding to get seen  on here. As I said earlier, I have not really used it yet but, when the time comes, I hope I do not run into any problems.

OK, that would really be good.

It is going to be permanent I am sure. They do not work on these updates and spend countless man hours of work to make them and them decide not to use them. It will be the only option. So, this week perhaps, i will do some new listings on it and I suggest you learn it as well.

Trust me, your headache will get worse once you see how much clicking you'll have to do to list one item.

Re: New Listing Tool - Has Anyone Tried It?

This kind of management makes it easier to understand why eBay is floundering as a company and losing market share and gmv. They just do not have a clue about there customer base at all. At least they are replacing 4 board members in July but hopefully it's not too late. I wish sellers could reach out to share holders and let them know what is really going on with the platform! Wouldn't they be shocked. Company can't grow if the users can't stand using the company.... Get it- if should be getting easier and faster to list not harder and more confusing and time consuming!  But the biggest problem is.... They have been getting this feedback for 1.5 years and still CHOSE to force it through....... Shows that they do not get it at all

I have an unproven theory that when they decided to do this, they chose a smart phone app building tool as the platform.  Sure it could generate a desktop interface as an afterthought, but be limited to the main design principles of good smart device app design.  That is, break all user inputs up into tiny little bits and pop-ups that are  suited to touch interface and try to avoid the need for using a keyboard / mouse.  Has anybody tried to reverse engineer the new tool to see what platform they are using?

Once the platform was decided to be phone app based, there was no way for eBay to address all the feedback they got from desktop / laptop users. Is the development tool being used  actually designed to prevent the use of the things we need for a good large screen desktop efficient experience?

It sure seems like it.  There have been countless feedbacks asking to reduce clicks and pop-ups and to give a wider view rather than making everything modal (modal stops you from seeing what is behind / under the popup).  If they could do this they probably would have, but I have seen practically zero improvement in the area of a better desktop interface.  And have seen zero response to our feedback that we know was presented to them.  Don't really have an answer.... just trying to understand.

Re: New Listing Tool - Has Anyone Tried It?

This new listing tool is just awful.  If someone finds a way to change back, could you please message me to know?  It's making my listings take twice as long having to click click click and it's driving me crazy!!
