How to opt out of the new '2019 Early Seller Update New fixed price listings will be Good ‘Til Cancelled duration'?

I have 12 different 'categories' of items(Toys, Books, Entertainment items, etc...), which I list one category per month.

With this new setup, I have to sell out of one category before I can list a different category?

Will I have to cancel all my listings a few hours before they end, so that they won't automatically renew?

Is there a way to opt out of this automatic renewal of listings?

I think if we just mention  @mypaymentstest  here in this messeage, we can add your plight to the list of sellers who need a solution to replace Turbo Lister in order to manage the storage and rotation of inventory.  Mykal, is there anything in Selling Manager Pro that can assist? How long does "inventory" last in that tool and what exactly is inventory in SMP?

Exporting a CSV from Turbo Lister that you could convert to File Exchange format is a partial solution for rotating your inventory into live listings, but it still would require uploading your photos somehow.

From time to time, stored listing templates in Selling Manager Pro/Seller Hub - Inventory should be updated to be in compliance with any further site updates and policy changes.

Exporting listings from Turbo Lister as a File Exchange file is an option. The file that is generated as a File Exchange format file through Turbo Lister will have additional information and headers in the file that our system (File Exchange) no longer needs, so some recommended adjustment to the file before uploading to File Exchange is advised.

There is no plans to develop another offline tools like Turbo Lister. Most features that are liked in Turbo Lister has transition over to online selling form and listing process.

I was under the impression by posts when Seller Hub was being introduced that Selling Manager and Selling Manager were also going to be discontinued, the same as Turbo Lister, and be replaced by the Seller Hub?

Reason given then was so everything would be done through Seller Hub?

Is that no longer the case or is that information still correct

@papermoneyforme - Your impression of Selling Manager/Selling Manager Pro migrating to Seller Hub is partially correct. Selling Manager Pro will be part of Seller Hub.

As for the current state of Selling Manager/Selling Manager Pro; it's still available. There is no definite plans on whether or not Selling Manager/Selling Manager Pro will be deprecated completed.

When Seller Hub was introduced, it was seen by many to be a replacement for tools such as Turbo Lister and Selling Manager Pro. Seller Hub is just another feature or view that we designed for sellers' to have all their selling tools, reports, selling activities, etc. to be displayed or accessible on one system view. The "Hub" will be a section on your eBay account that will provided access to all available selling features.

Everyone can get access to Selling Manager Basic. Selling Manager Pro can be a separate subscription or be included for free when subscribing to the top tier eBay Stores/Shop (Premium, Anchor, and Enterprise) subscriptions.

Hope this information gives you some validation on Selling Manager/Selling Manager Pro.

Thanks everyone for all your input, advise, suggestions...looks like I'll have to let the 100 items per store(2) I have renew each, month, cancelling the others. And when I need to put up new items, I'll have to use Seller Hub, Manage Active Listings, Create Listing, multiple listing, and basically re-do the 5 years of importing my 55,314 items into Turbo Lister. Sales will drop like a rock, but, ah well, sorta stuck with it.

How does that help? Even if they are hidden to search you are still being charged for them. The latest  new policy on buy it now listings..."good 'til cancelled"? is dreadful. If I continue to list all my items will end up costing me about $400.00 a month. And I will continue to be charged even when my vacation settings are on. I have been with ebay since they started in the mid 1990's and they refuse to help me with this. I am considering other venues and I beg other sellers to voice their complaints about this new change so they consider repealing it.

The GTC listing format has an out-of-stock (OOS) option to hide listings. When a listing is OOS for a full 30-day cycle, that cycle is eligible for a credit for the insertion and upgrade fees. So even though those hidden listings are still incurring insertion fees, eBay offers a credit.

I just listed 100 items in each of my 2 stores, and as eBay has informed us, all listings are now GTC.

I opened up one of my listings, and clicked 'Revise your item', under 'Selling details', 'Duration' the drop down box is greyed-out, with GTC as the only option.

But under that, it says this:'Listings renew automatically every 30 days, based on the listing terms at that time, until all quantities sell or the listing ends'.

This part doesn't make sense to me:'until all quantities sell or the listing ends'. I be confused...will listings auto renew every 30 days, or when the listing ends(after30 days)?

Or, am I reading that wrong? Very possible!

That normally means "until all quantities sell". Otherwise the listing just keeps renewing.

However, if you have chosen to use the out-of-stock option, then the listing will not end when the last item sells. Instead, the listing will go into hiding and await restocking. It can persist in hiding for up to 3 full renewal cycles before eBay ends the listing. Additionally, you can end the listing yourself at any time, or eBay can take it down for a violation, so hose are the three "until the listing ends" scenarios.

It is important to remember that when a listing "ends", it's item number is retired. That is eBay's definition of "end". If you relist the item, a new item number is assigned.  When a GTC listing renews, it keeps its item number, so it does not actually "end" on the renewal date.

Just spoke to a helpful representative. There’s no way to opt out. Corporate decided fixed price listings will now be automatically renewed. Period. Big problem for me since I’m just a person downsizing and not a store. I ask enough to cover shipping and both eBay and PayPal fees and cannot afford listing fees. I only list when it’s free. I did ask if I can end the listings before they automatically relist and wait for a free listing offer and that is allowed so that’s what I’ll be doing. Months the free listings aren’t offered, I won’t make as many sales and eBay won’t profit. And yes, they realize it. Hmmmm

Yes. That IS the only way to avoid it. You can then re-list them at your leisure but will have to end them manually before they end again. It is okay to wait until free listings are offered. All fixed price listings will now be eBay mandated GTC (or automatically relisted) and you will be charged applicable fees.

Current listings WILL be automatically renewed and eBay will change them all no matter how old they are or long ago you created them. All 129 of my current/old listings were altered and relisted without any action on my side. Any future listings I create/drafts will only have the GTC option. The only way to avoid it is by using auction-style listings which, as I’m sure you know, usually ends with non-paying buyers which is why I always sell Buy It Now only.

We small fries can accept the free listings offers. This is now going to be our ONLY way of listing more than 50 items a month without the expense we cannot afford. You’ll just have to keep an eye out and manually end them before they re-list automatically. The representative I spoke to did say this was okay.

I think eBay is clearly choosing to go big business and stores (think Amazon and cheap merch from China) and may be doing this to filter US regular people out. Personally, I feel we are what makes eBay special. I buy and sell. It will most likely have a negative outcome and it can change back. However, you can select multiple items in the left column and then click End. All of these listings will move into the unsold category where they will remain for 30 days. You can have them increase this to 90 days with a phone call in case you didn’t know. Then wait until you’re offered those free listings, select them all and click re-list. Just don’t forget to manually end them early or they will re-list automatically at a cost.
