Everything I shipped to my buyer was wrapped nicely. When he received it everything was smashed to pieces.
during transit was when everything was broken. How do I go about this?

Hi @emwag_9786
If you shipped all of the 20 figurines in one box ... then they didn't stand a chance of making it intact to the buyer. [Each of them needed to be boxed separately ... and then maybe a few of them could have been shipped together in a bigger box.]
Did any of the figurines survive the trip? Is the buyer interested in keeping any of them? If ALL of the items were broken ... then simply refund the buyer in full and tell them to toss the broken pieces.
I'm so sorry this happened. It sounds like you could use help in packing fragile items safely ... as you have other fragile items for sale.

They were packed nicely, but together in one box.
some were salvageable but not all.
I am fairly new to this, I was only given one option for shipping and didn’t know what else to do. I have already refunded him, but is there anything else I could do?
like talk to usps?
I wasn’t even able to Insure it through eBay. It’s not even my fault as to why they are broken. 😞

I'm going to allow eBay SELLERS to offer you advice on how this could have been handled better.
I'm a buyer only, but I do know that there was no way 20 figurines could have been shipped in one box SAFELY. [Packing 'nicely' just means that you could have carried the box yourself without anything being broken ... but there wasn't enough protection for it to be tossed around by multiple carriers. There were thin protrusions on many of the figurines.]
USPS shipping labels come with a certain amount of insurance included ... I believe it's $100 ... and you were able to add on extra insurance to the label at the time you purchased it on eBay. BUT I doubt you could have won the claim by packing all figurines in a single box.

Ask the buyer for a few pictures of the item and package.
Have the buyer hang on to the items and package so it can be inspected.
You file a claim with the carrier.

So, you are saying that this was not displayed when you went to the page to purchase the label.
Matters little, as it would have been money wasted on a claim that would likely 99.9999% have been denied unless there was severe outer box damage noted by the carrier. shock damage is generally denied by USPS

I seriously doubt your carrier will pay off if you did not double box those fragile items. They will state 'insufficient packaging' which it was.

You shipped 20 figurines together in one box...they didn't stand a chance of arriving unbroken.
You can file a claim with the shipping carrier but unless you wrapped each figurine in bubble wrap separately, put packing around it and double boxed you will lose.
I find it truly hard to believe that it didn't show the option to add insurance. I have shipped many many thousand packages and it always shows up

Packing breakable items is a skill learned by doing.
You have other items which you should consider removing from Ebay until you have learned to pack.
Double-boxing is the best way to have safe arrival of a breakable. Each item in a box with packing material between the item and the box, and multiple boxes in a larger box with packing material between the boxes.
No carrier is likely to pay for the damage which occurs due to failure to double box.
You should stick to single item listings until you have demonstrated the ability to pack breakables.

@emwag_9786 yes it was- you have to scroll down to the bottom to see it. Doens't matter anyway, would've just been a waste of money as most all carriers do NOT pay (through insurance) for breakage when breakable things are shipped- only if very obvious damage to the box itself and usually only if shown to the driver immediately or at their office, almost immediately, by the 'buyer'.

You have to issue a full refund.
How well was it packed? Could it survive a drop of several feet into cement? I had a Fedex truck open the read door in front of my house. Two boxes fell out from near the top of the truck. As the driver searched for my package another one fell out and bounced in the street. After finding my package, the others were just tossed back in and off he went.
