I am an e-bay customer of long standing having joined on November 3, 1998, with continuing activity through today with 981 transactions as both a buyer and seller.
I have a customer complaint that remains unresolved with e-bay seller “greatfunctionitem”. They are a China based seller with a wide variety of offerings. During March 2022 I purchased a new electric motor. The seller offered a one-year guarantee. During the latter part of August 2022, I contacted the seller through e-bay advising them that the motor had failed. Subsequently I sent the seller a video, per their request, that demonstrated the motor problem. To date, the seller sends apologetic form letter replies to my status inquires but are stalling on honoring the guarantee. They claim to be waiting to hear from the manufacturer; however, my purchase was not with the manufacturer, and it was not the manufacturer who offered the guarantee. The seller, not the manufacturer, has obligation. It clearly appears that the seller is stalling hoping that I will become frustrated and stop pursuing my claim.
Unfortunately, e-bay will not intercede because the original purchase was more than 30 days ago. It seems to me that e-bay has an obligation to is buyers to see that sellers honor their advertised guarantees; otherwise, a one-year guarantee really become a 30-day guarantee.
Please help me to resolve this problem.

Those Chinese warranties are about as good as their products are.
If you paid with a credit card, see if you can open a case with them.

Most warrantees are only valid from the manufacturer.
Do you have the listing that shows the warrantee?
China is known to state whatever and sell cheap stuff.
If you have the warrantee in writing and paid by Credit Card, try going to the CC company for help with the warrantee.

Here is what eBay has today to sellers about offering a warranty.
Your seller probably never read it, so he is unaware of what his obligations are.
I’m going to gather that you didn’t know the policy either, otherwise, we wouldn’t be here.
Hey, we can’t know everything, and we don’t know what we don’t know. Sometimes that learning, costs us, but the knowledge gained will save us the next time.
Now YOU know and can be proactive and assert your knowledge should you ever be looking online for a warranted item.
eBay is like a garage sale or flea market that gives a 30 day buyer protection plan, of sorts.
I’m not sure what your options are in this situation.

Buying electrics out of China is a huge mistake. I would also bet the listing for that motor stated a 1 year manufacturer warranty and the incorrect assumption is being made that the warranty is from the vendor.
Someone recently made a similar complaint and refused to believe the warranty was from the manufacturer even after being told this by numerous posters and several links were provided to existing ads from the same seller which stated in every case "Manufacturer warranty". And multiple times in the same listings.

"Please help me to resolve this problem."
Next time, buy from a USA Authorized Distributor or Manufacturer that offers a legitimate warranty.
You are never going to see a replacement motor or refund from your overseas seller. Time to move on unless your Credit Card company would process a charge back after 6 months.

Stop buying from China? 99.9% of the items sold are garbage. Be grateful that your electronic item did not burn down your house or electricute you. Throw it away and go buy the item from a reputable seller in the USA. There are no guarantees especially from a seller in China. It's more than 6 months so I doubt that your credit card company will help you. You can try.

Watch the movie 'TOMMY BOY'
One scene a potential 'buyer' says 'anyone can put anything on a box and say it's a warranty, but the warranty is only as good as the person backing it"
China- need I say more?
