Buyer requested remorse return/I denied/They filed payment dispute/Seller Protection?

Been on ebay since 1996 and this is a first.  Sold a pair of booties, Fly London, vintage, so the numbers are kind of curvy.  They are marked 37 but not super obvious as part of the 3 is worn down, so I added measurements and said they were a definite 7, because I am and they're perfect.  Buyer requested return because they didn't fit and says there's no way they're a 37.  However, before she requested return, she left me a nice negative saying hope the refund process is easy.  Her negative fb was "The shoes are too large. The posting said they were a size 37. These are perhaps a 47? It’s difficult to read. I love the shoes and the seller was very kind to work with me on the price. I hope the return will go as well."  I don't do refunds and I had the option so while seeing red I declined her return.   In messages she also said "The good news is that if I get a full refund, my review will be deleted…"  My first goal was to get fb removed...seemed a good candidate for removal but ebay thought otherwise.  Fine, I'll live with the fb and my response was professional.  Now she's opened a payment dispute with her financial institution as not as described.  Obviously, the shoes are not a 47 or 67 as she now claims and she's gone a little batsh*t crazy, calling me beach-bum23 etc...I refused the payment dispute showing her own photos that the shoes are 37...the description and our messages.  What are the chances ebay has my back on this for seller protection.  Keep in mind it was a "remorse" "not fit" return request initially.  I know I made my life harder by not just accepting the return but she wanted a "full" refund including both shippings in order to revise feedback.  May I also just say that ebay "help" is anything but.

Re: Buyer requested remorse return/I denied/They filed payment dispute/Seller Protection?

Did any of you look how she lined the shoes up and the angle at which she took the pic?  Her shoes are lined on the edge of the carpet and the ones I sold her are lined up about an inch in...c'mon.  Look, at this point I don't really care.  I also gave measurements as I always do.  She shows a pic herself of marking of s7 on the pics, so they're a 7.  I've been on ebay since 1996 (don't let the new account fool you).  When the IRS came along my US account was no longer allowed, so I opened a Cdn account.  I've been selling shoes for a long time, she's the first complaint I haven't taken care of and actually was on my way to accept the return when I saw she'd left a negative.  I'd just gotten home from a recurring treatment at the hospital and was **bleep** that she hadn't contacted me first.  I wrote her and apologized today and offered to rectify the situation but I haven't heard back.  I still think her leaving neg fb was a ploy to get me to accept a return as she wrote me, once you refund me the negative will go away.  I see that as extortion, wouldn't you if you were me?  Luckily, I've diversified to several other selling platforms and ebay doesn't even account for 40% of my sales.  You can't get a straight answer from anyone, reps, managers or fellow sellers.  It's the wild west...yeehaw.

I agree the shoes are lined up to their advantage.

However it doesn't  matter and is no defense because their financial institution will side with their customer, the buyer because they don't  want to lose their business.

Sometimes eBay will give you a courtesy refund but I never heard of them doing it for fit issues even though fit issues are remorse returns and they gave you the option to decline. It's  really carp because you provided measurements.  They let you decline a return but they really want sellers to resolve issues with buyers which is offering to accept the return. eBay would have issued the buyer a return label on the buyer's account for remorse returns.

Now that it's  out of eBay's  hands you'll probably lose the shoes, money, and get hit with a $20 chargeback fee. In the end you will have paid original shipping out of your pocket, too.

You can be right and win the return battle but lose the war.

You had a chance to get the shoes back and refund.

Now you don't have a chance at getting the shoes back and will refund.

Whatever happens, happens but WHY would you say 'ebay is anything but help'??

How would you know? Did you contact them to tell them you don't want to do a CB (kinda like telling the Dr. "I don't wanna do Cancer)....

- a CB is NOT something ANY entity can do ANYTHING about- so why would you expect ebay to be any different??

My question is will ebay have my back on a payment dispute

1. when firstly she claimed they didn't fit,

2. where she's now claiming NAD?

Specifically @beach-brain23

when the payment dispute is for THE EXACT SAME REASON as the original eBay case

eBay seller protection will pay out-of-pocket for the refund if the financial institution rules in favor of the buyer.

What's a good cream to apply on Blackpink in your area?

Re: Buyer requested remorse return/I denied/They filed payment dispute/Seller Protection?

If you provided sufficient information in your reply to the dispute it is possible that eBay may cover you on this (may require an appeal) if the financial institution finds in the buyer's favor. (most common result)

If you provided sufficient information in your reply to the dispute it is possible that the financial institution will not find in the buyer's favor. (rare)

A $20 fee will be assessed for a failed charge back challenge failure not covered by eBay.

Normally, after you submit your response to the payment dispute, eBay will tell you if it will be covered by seller protection. If so, you should see a note like this:
