Buyer gave wrong address, abused return system, and eBay stole money from my account.

Had a buyer open a "Missing Parts" return when he didn't get his package. In our exchange he admits the incorrect address is on file. It is the buyers responsibility to have the correct address on their account. The tracking showed it was delivered to this address and claims he doesn't have it because the address is wrong. Now my money was locked up in this fraudulent return, he gave the  wrong address and is trying to return an item he admits he doesn't have. eBay reviews the case and gives him the money back stealing it from my account. They broke their own policies to refund this buyer. How do I fight this to get the stolen funds back?

Apparently the buyer claims that they never received anything. The seller can prove delivery.

Unfortunately, no. Sellers can have tracking proving delivery anywhere, and eBay considers it delivered to the buyer.

That would great if I lived in "Greenfield, Indiana", but I live in "Dearborn, Michigan"

I tried opening a case, but they said "it was delivered", so what can I do?

My item was delivered to another state.

I am at a lost and can not get any real help. I can not talk to anybody

eBay even considers tracking showing delivered back to the seller as delivered to the buyer!

I'm going to try and fight the decision, how do I start?

Your own screenshot shows that's not at all what the buyer said.

Very simply, eBay saw that your own tracking proves you did not ship to the address on the Order Details page, and so eBay refunded the buyer. That address is provided at Checkout, and cannot be changed afterwards.

Sorry, there's nothing to appeal.

Yes, I shipped to the address that was on the order details page. That's what I meant by "on file".  The address that eBay gave me is the address that was on the order details and that was the address I shipped to.

Okay so I go to appeal the defect and I am at this screen. Where do I go from here? Screenshot (25).png

I don't how this screen will help you to open an appeal. You need to reach out to eBay with a message on their facebook page. You'll get quick, intelligible email responses that you can reply to, even escalate. Good luck.

Just to give one final update, I appealed the case to eBay's CS via email and won the appeal. They reversed the decision and refunded me. Thank you!
