Accidental purchase

I put in an offer for a computer, expecting to get either a counter offer or at least a confirmation, but instead It said I purchased the item. I didn’t realize it until I got the item. Now I’m trying to return it, they say I have to wait another week to get a return shipping slip? Then once I re wove that and return the item it will be another week after that!!?? How did this happen and how can I get a refund sooner than 2 weeks?

Re: Accidental purchase

If you put in an offer and the seller accepts it, you bought it!

You will need to file a case with a remorse return reason.

As in "no longer needed" Or "bought by mistake"

I dont know who they is, that said you have to wait but try filing a return claim and make sure you use the correct remorse return reason.

Once you return the item and the seller has it and agrees it is the same item, you will get refunded.

Re: Accidental purchase

Sorry but it was not an accident.   If your offer is accepted, it's a purchase.   eBay now has automatic payment so your purchase is paid right away.  Gets your item to you faster.  In any case, you did make a purchase.  You should not expect your seller to lose time and money over this.

If you don't want it, you can resell it your self on eBay.

Re: Accidental purchase

You did really purchase it. When you put in an offer the seller decided to accept it. Never make an offer unless you are willing to buy it at that  price. It might be easier if you just sell the computer yourself instead of trying to return it.

Once I  bough a pair of jeans. When I received them I realized that I ordered the wrong size. Instead of going through the trouble of returning it and then waiting for a refund I listed the item on eBay and it sold.

Re: Accidental purchase

Making an offer on an item is not an accident.

You offered to buy the item at a certain price, and the seller - and ebay - considered it a done deal.

Follow remorse return instuctions as mentioned above if you have changed your mind.

Re: Accidental purchase

As stated, not an accidental purchase.  You are costing the seller time and money by returning but it’s your prerogative to return.

Re: Accidental purchase

When you make an offer that is an offer to BUY if the seller accepts your offer

Seller accepted your offer so now you are a buyer.

If you want to return you need to choose changed mind as the reason

Re: Accidental purchase

Did you do an eBay Return Request or are you just sending a message thru eBay messages?

See if this link will help with a return request.

Re: Accidental purchase

Also...If the seller paid to ship the computer to you, the Stand Up thing to do would be to offer to pay that shipping as well!   You have at least one item listed with free shipping, put yourself in their shoes.  Free shipping Ain't free.
