Re: Community Chat, Sept 13th @ 1pm PT - General Topics

Is there ANY consideration being given to adding a MONTHLY sales total to the Hub?

eBay has always been MONTHLY. Our invoices are monthly and I'd like to see my sales total as monthly as well (note - NOT 31 days - CALENDAR month, as they have always been shown on the generic pages).

Also whose bright idea was it to show sales totals including shipping? Our sales totals have ALWAYS been shown as item cost ONLY. If you can't change this at LEAST gove some consideration to showing both figures.

ANY business I've ever been a part of has ALWAYS shown sales as the ITEM price NOT including shipping. Shipping is an EXPENSE column, not a SALES column.

Hi @creativecrisis - We would recommend contacting customer service. They'll be able to review your account in detail and look for suggestions to help increase your volume. Also, are you using the Seller Hub? If not, I would suggest opting in. There's a new Growth tab and Performance tab we've included which can give you a lot of great insight into your listings. Impressions, click-through rate, conversion rate, etc. It may provide additional guidance on how to improve your sales.

Heidi, have you actually looked at what the Growth tab currently recommends?  It's worthless.  I have multiple items where my price is the lowest including shipping and it states that I'm 100% less likely to sell than others.  Other times it either finds no listing or different items to compare to when there are dozens of the same item on the site.

The Growth pages are still not ready for prime time, why would anyone use them?

Hi all.  I think we covered the shipping to and form issues in regards to the hurricane areas fairly well now.

However I still have several OP's who I do not know how to answer in regards to returns.  They have returns going into the areas affected but are being told they stiill need to stick to the time line for the return shipping period.  Other than sharing the    hurricanerelief@ebay.com   is there anything else I should be telling them?

Hi @comics-scifi-collectibles - Sharing that email address would be the best option or having the member contact customer service. Depending on the specifics, we could look into extending the return window or other protection options available.

Hi, are all the tools and short cuts in the new SELLER HUB here to stay or will you be eliminating some? More specifically, will the "MY EBAY ALL SELLING PAGE" tab be eliminated or staying. The removal of this page was my big fear as it is the one I am accustomed to viewing and working from. I was very happy to see I could still click on it through SELLER HUB and go back to my familiar and EASY Page to work from. EVERYTHING I need is on this page. thanks for your response.

We don't have any plans to remove this link at the moment, but I recommend you provde your feedback to our Seller Hub team by clicking the "Comments?" link in the upper right corner of your Seller Hub. This team reviews those comments regularly for future changes and hearing what you use the most is valuable details to share! We are always working to improve our tools and changes may be made later related to the features you reference. Getting your feedback into the hands of the appropriate team will help to ensure that Seller Hub remains a great resource for you and the way you run your business!

As far as being able to "customise" the Seller Hub pages, you should be aware that eBay has a HISTORY of suddenly defaulting customised pages (by the seller) to what  eBay thinks it should be.

For example, this is an ongoing issue with the bulk editor. No matter how many times you customise it to the columns YOU want to see, time after time you go to the page only to be confronted with eBay's "defaults" yet again.

Can you assure us that if we put the time and effort into customising the Hub to be what we want, eBay will not suddenly reset it to the defaults again?

How do I stop the "Tell us what you think" pop up that seems to pop up every day, more than once a day, for more than a month now.  It's annoying.

Hello.

I have a shipment going to Miami and USPS has it currently being held in California on a delay and it's flagged as a "processing exception" which I assume to mean it won't be processed until the delay is lifted.

This is obviously understandable, and I have no issue with it, and I am aware that eBay is extending protections for seller's who have been affected by the hurricanes, though I am assuming this applies to sellers in the effected areas.

Because it's flagged as a weather delay, will I be effected for late shipping if it goes past the deliver by date because of the weather delay? It appears as if it might be going to a reshipper based on the address.

I may be asking an obvious question but I honestly don't know, and the post I saw earlier didn't appear to differentiate between sellers in the effected areas and sellers shipping to the effected areas, which has the potential to mean one or the other.

Also, can I please have my old unsolds page back.

Hi @lookng2015 - I'm not 100% sure of what's on the Seller Hub team's road map or their priorities at the moment but I do know we've shared this feedback in the past. I'll share your comment with them as well and if you have any additional feedback, I would encourage you to send that to them in the 'Comments?' link within the Hub. Those comments are sent directly to that team and it's where they've gotten a lot of input for improvements already made.

It is not our intention to change any of the customizations you make to Seller Hub - we've heard from many sellers that once they customized their display that Seller Hub became a great asset to them. Barring any unforseen issues, these changes should stay the same. I do recommend you use the "Comments?" link in the upper right corner of the Seller Hub to get this feedback directly in the hands of our Seller Hub team.

I've been opted into the Seller Hub for months. The Growth and Performance tabs are not incredibly helpful for my listings because there's limited data available (apparently). Yes, I can see my impressions, click-through rate, and conversion rates. They are lousy. I already know that. I do not find "additional guidance" on improving my sales, which is what I'm asking for here.

If I were to call customer service, what team or department should I ask for? I'm sure you're aware that the reps who answer the phone often struggle to handle even routine issues.

@dtexley3 - In using the Growth tab myself, I have found listings that needed updated in comparison to my competitors' listings. The info provided there may not apply to your listings 100% of the time and the suggestions aren't required to be implemented. If you have any feedback regarding the recommendations you have there, please share those through the 'Comments?' link as mentioned previously.

Hey @jaaron7, once you either provide feedback or select not to, this pop up should not appear again unless you clear your cache & cookies, as the site then would not see that you had responded previously. You may have a setting on your browser or a security program that is clearing these for you if you are not doing it yourself on a regular basis. If you continue to run into trouble with this, grab doug@ebay and he can look into the specifics for you, no problem!

Hi @bigmotormania - There's definitely no harm in asking about your protections and we're happy to help! Since the item is being held due to a weather delay, you should be protected as well. If you happen to receive a defect or a late shipment, I would recommend contacting customer service. They'll be able to review the order, tracking, and your buyer's location to ensure this won't impact your Seller Performance.

Re: Community Chat, Sept 13th @ 1pm PT - General Topics

In regards to return labels not being offered as an option for sellers is there an ETA on a FIX for this?

I have heard it's a glitch from Tyler but an OP just said they were told by CS that ebay removed the return label option due to the storms?

I am not sure why that would be.  The only reason I could think of is that it will make sellers have to provide their own return label and then they will be more aware of purchasing insurance.

The works arounds I know are for the seller to purchase a label and send it as a PDF in an email or send payment for the postage to Paypal as payment for good and services.

@creativecrisis - The best route to get to that department would be here. That should direct you to our Selling teams who can look into this further. A lot of our members here on Community might also have recommendations and if you're open to it, I'd suggest posting on our Selling board to see what they might offer as well.
