Hello Community Team!
I'm using Promoted Listings, and I noticed that when a sponsored listing appears in search results, it does NOT include "Guaranteed By (date)". However, my regular, non-sponsored listing for the same item DOES include the delivery guarantee notation.
Does eBay intend for it to work this way, with no guaranteed delivery notation on sponsored listings?
Hi @Anonymous, thanks for pointing this out to us! It seems like promoted listings should display the Guarantee, so I'll go ahead and pass this over to the appropriate team!

Hi @blazebird, the About Me page was rolled to the profile page so the Me link became no longer necessary.
Accepted as a solution! (no link to click for this!!!)

Confusion continues around forced GTC on the app. For some sellers, it has disappeared as mysteriously as it came. Recently (and finally) the app team issued the following limited information on the mobile app thread:
We did make some adjustments, depending on your seller level you will see more options for fixed priced listings.
In addition, Ask Ebay on twitter is stating that the forced GTC renewals to do not incur fees (see attached):
“The great news is that you aren’t charged any fees when these listings renew . . “
This contradicts your fee statement, which states:
Good 'Til Cancelled listings
For Good 'Til Cancelled listings, we charge an insertion fee every 30-day period. Your listing will renew automatically every 30 days unless your item sells before that timeframe, you cancel your listing, or your listing violates an eBay policy and we end your listing. Good 'Til Cancelled listings count toward your monthly zero insertion fee listings. Fee amounts are based on the terms in effect when the listing goes live and when it renews.
Communication on this has been quite limited. Can you address the following:
- Are the forced renewals free?
- If not, will you post something to deal with the contradictory advice?
- What must one do to get in a seller segment where GTC is not forced on the app?
- Why were none of these changes communicated until after they were made?
Hi @dgn5009 -
1. Good Til Cancelled renewals are free for members who are considered consumer-sellers and who use the app to list, or the simplified listing tool.
2. Happy to get clarification on this point.
3. The default duration for Fixed Price listings on the app is Good Til Cancelled. There is not currently a way to alter this.
4. We're always working to improve and simplify the listing process for members. While not every change will be communicated via a formal announcement, adustments were detailed within the listing flow to applicable parties.

On the Store landing page, when a seller has a sale running (and I don't right now), there is the word "sale" which used to be a link to the items for sale.
Since the Stores "upgrade" in late May, the link hasn't worked............it leads to the full items for sale.
I know store stuff has been put off til next year, but this "disappoints" a buyer who is interested in seeing sale items.....any chance of getting it fixed?

Hi everyone,
I have a question on the sold item emails.
On multiple quantity listings, the remaining quantity has been removed from the email. Showing me the original quantity, which could be years of listing, doesn't help me figure out if I need to restock the listing.
Could you suggest restoring the display of the remaining quantity to the appropriate team?
thanks!
Sue
Hi @wooden_flower - I can definitely make that suggestion, thanks for the call out. 🙂

Howdy!
A few weeks ago I had posted about the misleading wording of the Buyer Cancellation page:
Just wanted to let you all know that the page has some very favorable changes... like saying it's a "request." There may be some more altering to it, but I won't know if that will happen or not.
https://www.ebay.com/help/buying/canceling-order/canceling-order?id=4004
While I could only post here, I wasn't alone in my thinking. There was someone who was able to get this in front of the Help Pages Team and make it a priority.
So a very special thanks to that person and to the Community Team for sending it up the food chain.
I can't tell y'all who got it front and center because I could only imagine how their inbox would fill! 😃

Regarding return reasons:
The reason "Defective or doesn't work" needs to be reworded to something like "defective or doesn't operate, turn on/off". We sell auto parts and saying an item "doesn't work" usually means it doesn't fit. In most cases the return was initiated with the incorrect reason and the seller is now responsible for return shipping and a full refund when the item was just ordered incorrectly and also a SNAD hit to the metrics. Some of the return requests don't even give an option to send a message back to the buyer it goes direct to purchase or provide a shipping label. In most cases we can rectify the situation with the buyer with a little back and forth messaging.
Hi @lugnutguys, while we have a return option for Doesn't fit already, there is no way to eliminate return reasons being selected incorrectly or by accident. We factor instances like these in when calculating your return rate and comparing you to your peers and if it is clear the buyer selected the incorrect reason, you can speak with Customer Service regarding the return shipping cost on a case by case basis.

I can't seem to find the Ebay policy / help page on the Volume Pricing feature in the Markdown Manger. Nor am I able to get the feature to work for me. Any ideas?
Hi @mam98031! The help page for the Volume Pricing tool is found in the upper right page while in the tool itself. I'll provide a link to the help page here as well. Review that help page to see if the instructions resolve the issue you're running into. If not, feel free to let us know

Is there a limit on the GTC's?........ie. 50 free, so every GTC that rolls over reduces the number?

Why is it when I receive a message from a buyer and decide to reply with an offer, there is no record of it in my messages? When I make an offer to a seller, I can see the “You’ve made an offer” in my messages, why is there no record of my offers and counter offers to buyers? It’s very difficult to try and remember what I originally offered if a buyer contacts me again days later!Hi @blazebird, you should be able to review offer history directly from the listing. Can you give me an item number example so I can double check for you?
I actually haven't had a recent one where my offer to the buyer wasn't accepted, but the point is why aren't these communications recorded in my messages?
Hi @blazebird, these messages would be recorded on the Manage Offers page, which is accessible through a listing that has offers. If you get an example anytime soon, definitely let us know!
The point of my original question is that I don't have "Make An Offer" on 95% of my listings. I get messages from buyers asking if I will accept so & so or can I do better on the price? I respond to these with the option of making an offer. Those are the offers I have no record of.
Hi @blazebird, I apologize if I have been unclear - in the situation you are describing, you would be able to review this communication on the Manage Offers page directly from the listing. This page includes the information you are looking for. It would not be saved in your messages because it is saved on the Manage Offers page. This is where you would find the record you are looking for.

"Good Til Cancelled renewals are free for members who are considered consumer-sellers and who use the app to list, or the simplified listing tool. "
Tyler, could you explain this in more detail? What is a 'consumer-seller'? Am I one?
If I use the app to list 100 items GTC are you saying I will not be charged renewal fees for these 100? Will they not be deducted from my 1,000 insertions that come with my store?
thanks!
Sue

When I Sell Similar, it seems like the only information passed along to my listing is the title (which I don't want), the category (which I do want), and the catalog information, if any.
Why doesn't the shipping weight and size come over from the previous listing?
If what I'm selling is actually different, I can change that. But if I'm selling the same item, it should be the same.
Also, often the Item Specifications don't seem to come over. They should definitely be the same.
Thanks.

I was recently speaking with a customer service rep and he casually mentioned that I have been a seller on this website since 2006. I corrected him and told him that I began selling in 1998 and have sold continuously since then.
He then said, No, my account shows that I registered my selling account in 2006 and although I might have been on the website from 1998-2006 with this ID, I did not have a registered selling account until 2006.
I didn't argue with him because I can clearly remember selling my first items for the holiday 1998.
What happened in 2006? Is there something signficant that erased my history from 1998-2006. Was there a new type of seller account in 2006 that made everything prior to that void?
I am really curious as to where that history went.
Thank you.
Hi @golfingaddict - I definitely see that your account was registered in 98. When it comes to selling registration that could have altered if there was a long period of inactivity sometime within that 98-06 timeframe. Did you take some time off during those years?
10-17-2018 01:40 PM
Hi, what EXACTLY is the DEFINITION of a CONSUMER-SELLER? Very curious, is this a seller who also buys? I am confuced. Thanks

Thank you. At first glance it looks like I did as the page tells me to do yet my promo is sitting on "pause" and I can't change it. But I will spend more time with the Help page after this chat session is over to see what I have overlooked.
BTW, I do find it cumbersome to have to type in each listing number that I want to have in the Promo. It would be leaps and bounds easier if I could select listings similar to how we do it when we are having a regular sale in the Markdown Manager.
