Hi @coffeebean832 - nothing as yet, but thank you for the reminder. I've asked for an update with the folks I sent it to and I will keep you posted when I hear back.

Tyler, all the cancellations I received were on variation listings which don't apply so I haven't been able to answer the question on my own. Thanks for reaching out again. Don't you guys have a test account you can use to set the out of stock feature, place an order then cancel it to see what happens? Test accounts would be incredibly useful for questions that come up such as this one. slight_smile

The new shipping labels page is a good improvement vs the old. Scan sheets and insurance can now be done in one place.

The only thing we see wrong is you can't see more than 2 types of priority items.

You can go to that sale and sort from all usps items but then you can't include that in your scan sheet.

I have been wondering happened to flat rate envelopes on the new shipping page. I moved to another shipping company,.

Many seem to not know with the new labels you have to click the box for Carrier Packaging

Managed Payments:

Good afternoon Gentlemen, sorry to roll in late but its been a busy day.  I was just wondering if the next Phase of Managed Payments will include the Date range programmable (CSV) database for all items on transactions (Buyer address including State, Sold amount, fees paid, shipping paid (I guess this one will still be thru PayPal), refunds issued, etc.?

Its one thing to offer Buyers all the funding source options but looking at this as a complete business the back accounting needs to be just as easy to work with as listing, selling and shipping ... any information will be appreciated.

Best regards,

Previous chats mentioned that everyone now has the ability to send offers to watchers. I have seen it on someone else's ebay app but I cannot find it anywhere on my app or in my account where I can add this feature so I can also use it. Please advise how I can add this to my account. Thanks.

Hi @ncacheer, I've checked your account through a browser and do see the option to send offers to watchers on the Seller Hub - Listings page. The screenshot below is what the feature looks like. Click that button and you'll be able to send watchers an offer.

Related to the comment about books:
I sell a lot of books, and when I put in the ISBN, the Catalog takes over and attaches a catalog item that is NOT the item I'm selling, more often than not.
Even if it is the correct item, the category is totally wrong, labeling most books as "textbooks" or "cookbooks" when they definitely are not.
I've stopped bothering to report these, as they never seem to change.

I just delete the ISBN from the Item Specifics, and put it in the description.

Hi @vrykalak - we definitely want to see the book catalog improve if there are inaccuracies. You can email the team directly at sdsupport@ebay.com with the ISBN and what's wrong with them and that team will work to get it corrected.

I noticed a bunch of listings that started on May 15th renewed on June 14th...30 days, not the same date each month. ?.

May had 31 days.  Which caused them to renew on the 14th instead of the 15th.

That's not how it's supposed to work.
Everyone howled so badly about that, when the renew time was 30 days, that eBay changed the policy, and said that items would renew on the same
DATE they were posted.
Did that change back?

This is what cause a lot of the uproar from sellers when GTC for all was implemented.  On months with 31 days a listing could renew twice in a single calendar month.  Ebay is fixing that and the fix is suppose to be out in July.

But that is what cause the difference you say.  GTC currently renew every 30 days.  Come July it will renew ONCE per calendar month.

Oh, that explains it.
The change hasn't been implemented yet.
When in July will it happen?

Hi @vrykalak - starting July 1st. 🙂

Request a return
Why do you want to return this item? Doesn't work or defective.

we do believe that those two words shouldn't be together, a part doesn't work for your system doesn't mean it's defective.

this is true with parts we sell, for example an internal wifi wireless card available in standard original version,
and oem version with oem part number such as dell/ibm/toshiba,and hp, though the model number for all are the same,
for example you can't use dell oem in IBM or HP systems due ti white list, even we note this issue in all our listings, still few customers buy the wrong one, and for the reasons we stated will not work, returning it is fine with us , when customer want to choose the reason, and you can't blame him, he choose doesn't work, we end loosing shipping, and defect.I can forward you many returns that fail under this circumstances, and customer either end getting the correct part or acknowledged the issue, I would suggest removing the word doesn't work, and
instead adding incompatible to doesn't fit ( doesn't fit or incompatible)

Hi @wondercity3, thanks for the suggestion. I'll be sure to send it over to the appropriate team for consideration!

When will the 50 free listings per month, bogus promotion be removed from my store? We all know it is bogus and yet it still sits there now through the end of June. Am expecting it to continue to be there for the July 1-August like it did last year? I know better that I should not use all of my 100 with a Starter store knowing these 50 free will not work, but for those new to this, they see that bogus free 50 and just keep on listing until they are hit with overages. Been 2 months it still sits on my account and probably on other seller accounts that don't know better. Thanks if this can be fixed and soon.

And my second question that I raised before...if for some reason I go over my 100 limit knowing you have given me another 50 free for the same month, and I go over my limit, since this is an ebay glitch, will you reimburse me for those overages. Just asking as usual.

Hi @abfabvintage

Unfortunately I don't have an update on this, though I am sending regular reports to our developers. As for credits, sellers can contact customer support to have the situation reviewed for possible credits.

Recently a buyer filed a wrong item sent claim- later they confirmed they received the correct item.

The eBay customer service rep said the mark would be removed from my service metrics where I'm compared to peers within 24-48 hours. I was very specific to confirm exactly that they were referring to the service metrics (peer comparison) and not seller performance (defect).

I've never heard of the return being removed from service metrics, but I thought maybe it was part of the new seller protections that have yet to be announced- except the return is still showing in my projected service metrics evaluation for next month.

Did the rep give out wrong information? Actually I spoke with 2 different reps about it on 2 different days because I was skeptical and they both said the same thing.

Hi @coffeebean832 - I can't say for certain that you were given incorrect information without a bit more detail. I'll message you shorty for specifics and review the situation. 🙂

Seller Generated Offers Question.

I like to keep track of the dollar amount of the offers I've sent out on each listing. I usually only make a few offers at a time, and I keep a record the Old Skool way, with pen and paper. But it would be nice if ebay kept track of my offers too. Here's what I've found (could be wrong, maybe someone else could look at their offers):  ebay does do this, but ONLY for listings that have "Make An Offer" active. On my non-Make An Offer listings, ebay doesn't keep track. Is that correct? If so, this is something I'd like to see eBay remedy, so maybe you could pass the suggestion along. Thanks!

Hi @my-cottage-books-and-antiques - there isn't a place that I can find where we show you details about offers you've sent via 'Seller Initiated Offers'. I'm not really certain why, but I will happily add your voice to the suggestion I'm sending to the team.

Hi,

Could you please explain the instant views that some items get as soon as they are listed?  Some of my items have received as many as 1,000 views the moment that they are listed, while others receive 1 or 5 or 10 or none.

1. What entity/robot is viewing the listings?

2. Can the instant views be turned off?   It's hard to know if an item is of real interest (until it is bought)  when you can't determine how many views it has received.

3. Are the instant views a glitch or is this intentional?  If a glitch, is there a timeframe for a fix?

Thank you,

cookie

Hi @cookiecookie55, this is a known issue. Our tech team is working to resolve this but I do not have a timeframe on when the fix is expected.

I just found out that I can't change handling time for items ending in 24 hours.

Used to be 12 hours. Now I am stuck with a late shipping defect on an item that ended while I was on vacation, because I changed the handling time more than 12 hours, but less than 24 hours, before the end.

Also, the 'Reminders' at the top say that handling time was changed 318 (of 323). That means there were four other items where the handling time did not get changed, when I told the system to make that change on all the active listings.
That's scary, because I can't find any way to check which others were not changed. (The one item I knew would sell while I was away was the only one with less than 24 hours left before it ended, so that was not the reason.)

I asked if the defect could be removed, under the circumstances, and I was told definitely NO.

This is mostly just a rant, but I would like eBay to be a little more tolerant, and help Sellers who get caught in a trap like this.

Hi @vrykalak, the timeframe when revisions are restricted is still 12 hours before an auction ends. Did you see messaging letting you know that it is 24 hours? If an auction has a bid on it then this will limit what can be revised, such as shipping information. If the listing in question did have a bid on it then this may be the reason you couldn't revise it.

Yes, it had a bid. That's how I knew it was going to sell.
Would that mean I couldn't change the shipping options any time after a bid was placed?
That's scary!

@vrykalak, when a buyer places a bid they are doing so under the impression that the shipping service, cost, and estimated delivery time will remain the same. Revising these aspects of a listing alters the terms the buyer agreed to when placing their bid. To avoid creating bad experiences, it is not possible to change shipping details once a bid is placed. My understanding is that additional shipping services can be added, but the current shipping costs, services, and handling time cannot be changed.

Auctions don't have guaranteed delivery.
Estimated delivery doesn't show up until the buyer pays.
So why should changing the handling time affect an auction?

@vrykalak, this is not related to Guaranteed Delivery. Buyers see the estimated delivery date before they place a bid. For many buyers, the estimated delivery date is something they factor into whether or not they want to bid on an auction. If a seller were to change the shipping details (such as increasing the price of shipping or extending the delivery time) after the buyer placed their bid then buyers would reasonably feel like they were mislead. To avoid these types of negative experiences, seller cannot revise shipping information after a bid is placed. If a seller knows they will be out of town or otherwise unavailable to ship within the handling time they selected in their auction, they should revise it prior to bids being place or they can end the auction early and relist it with the correct shipping details.

Hi @coffeebean832 - That would  make things so much easier, wouldn't it? Alas, we don't.

It seems like a very straightforward question, which is why I was hoping for a speedy turnaround. Fingers crossed we can shake the tree a bit and get something solid soon!
