Thanks doug,

Can you share with us the strategy behind no Holiday TV ads? I got the idea behind the "Chill" ads....criticizing companies that start their ad campaigns too early. I'm thinking maybe the diabolically clever follow up is, ebay will now run Holiday ads too late?

Maybe a "better late than never" Holiday ad campaign?

Because otherwise, I kind of feel you let your partners (the sellers) down by not doing a Holiday ad campaign.

They are waiting for Christmas in July 😂  Granted I think people who do Christmas in July sales do ok.  Not a saturated holiday yet 😉

I think this thread is a good one to encourage Jordan Sweetnam, Brian Burke or other execs to participate in.

Happy New Year, everyone 🙂

Easy one - I wanted to verify that this statement is still true -

For items priced below $1000 with a specified shipping cost and where PayPal is the only payment method offered, buyers who click Buy It Now are asked to pay immediately.

It used to be part of the definition of fixed price, but I could not find it. I know things have moved around a bit in the revamped policy pages.

If true, then it would be true that IPR on a fixed price item is redundant, unless you want to not accept e-checks, right?  Or is there another function it serves?

thanks!

Here's a visual reference since not everybody can see emojis yet?

we were told in the last announcement of 11/18/19 that issues related to fixing Item Specifics would not be finalized until some time 2020. my program manager is still waiting for these fixes...i am forced to do custom specifics since the ebay data is incorrect. and doubtful the customs are even shown in search. need a timeframe here.

Hi @abfabvintage, I don't have an update to provide at this moment, but will work on getting more information for you if possible. If there is anything new to share, I will update this thread with more details once I hear more.

I am still confused about estimated delivery times I had four listings that sold on Friday the 3rd and I have one day handling. The estimated ship delivery time for items going across the country was Tuesday the seventh that didn’t make a lot of sense to me because one day handling time meant I didn’t have to ship them until Monday and it’s highly unlikely that first class mail would arrive by Tuesday across the country from me.  could you please explain how they’re getting those estimated delivery times?  I usually ship on Saturday but I am not required.   Are the estimated dates based on what I have done in the past.

1.  These were first class mail selected by buyer.
2. sold on Friday after 10am and mail had gone out for the day

3.  Each had 1 day handling which should be ship on monday

4 estimated delivery was Tuesday January 7.
Washington to Ohio. Washington to Kentucky and Washington to California. All estimated for Tuesday.

one was an instate shipment. Approximately 100 miles away and that was estimated for Wednesday January 8

does not make sense

Hi @my-cottage-books-and-antiques I honestly don't know what the strategy is behind not having holiday TV ads. I don't watch TV, and stream everything. I have seen the holiday chill ad in streaming services, and have heard radio ads. A different holiday strategy than last year, where a lot more was invested in TV than had been for many years.

I'd like to ask when these red flags which interfere with our responses to questions be resolved? It is even happening today during this chat. And many questions have been asked about it on the boards too, so I know I am not alone in this frustration. Thanks.

I had areturn last month (#383305630431).
(The guy told me in an email before he even received it that he would return it because it was too large. He later changed that to SNAD.)
When I got it back, eBay gave me a button to send the refund, so I did. I noticed at the time that eBay refunded only the item price, not the S&H.
Now the item shows up with status: LESS_THAN_A_FULL_REFUND_ISSUED
and says I should have returned the S&H, too. ?.

Hi @vrykalak - if you're a Top Rated seller and offer 30 day returns you are able to withhold original shipping when issuing a refund, or even refund less than the full amount if you received back a damaged item, etc (up to 50%).

I don't see any messaging to you from us that says you should be issuing the difference - though a buyer does have up to 10 days from when the refund is issued to dispute that amount with us. Thanks!

Yes, I never had a problem seeing them. I'm probably using a different OS/browser than those who can't see them.

Well, doug, that's two of us mystified. Maybe check with Suzy Deering? Is she the one in charge of that sort of thing?

hi, happy new year...so does that mean we should not bother adding comments to that thread...knowing now from your response here, do we assume there will be no responses/answers? it is still a pretty active thread. would be nice to attempt some kind of reply to those after the fact posters. JMO

Hi @abfabvintage ,

The goal of my post was to provide sellers with a one-page view of all the questions and answers. Rather than the 20+ clicks it would take to read through the Question Exchange. If you have questions for Jordan please save them for the next AMA.

Thank you.
