if you're a Top Rated seller and offer 30 day returns you are able to withhold original shipping when issuing a refund, or even refund less than the full amount if you received back a damaged item, etc (up to 50%).

Wait, what?

Do you mean you can withhold original shipping ONLY if you are TRS with 30 day returns and item is damaged , or you can withhold it as long as you are TRS and have a 30 day return policy???

I'd like to ask when these red flags which interfere with our responses to questions be resolved? It is even happening today during this chat. And many questions have been asked about it on the boards too, so I know I am not alone in this frustration. Thanks.

These are a real pain! We are working closely with our platform provider to fix this issue. It is our highest priority bug fix here on the Community. Thanks for sticking with us while we figure this one out.

Hi @mam98031, Happy New Year to you too! I hope 2020 is a prosperous year for you.

Regarding the new emojis, they should be working. Can you try to clear your cache & cookies to see if that resolves them not displaying for you?

Thanks. 🤝

I will be happy to give that a try.  However I will attempt it again later as for some odd reason clearing the cache really caused me some issues on my desktop.  I had to shut down twice to get everything back.

But once I will try again later and get back to you.

The emojis seem to be making the line spacing rather tall and empty on top. See labs post as an example- the last line of text is pushed down too far.

Here's a visual reference since not everybody can see emojis yet?

Nope that was me adding just a screen shot of my edit where the emojis appear But while editing only
I am afraid I am confusing everyone

I added all of them posted & they didn't show up as usual & this is what has been happening ,  then I went to my edit & they are there as always so I did a screen shot of them to show & posted my edit but forgot to add  the sentence EDIT and explain
This was only a screen shot of me in edit mode where they appear
I will add 1 now see if it posts
There is one on this

😃  Just in front of this sentence before I posted there was a smiley

Subject:  Return processed Prior to Delivery and Return flow:

I posted this on the Shipping and Returns Board but it got no replies so here it is.  A Buyer started a Return prior to Delivery, item 333458672415.  While in my mind that shouldn't even be possible the fact is it happened.  Anyway, on various pages of the return process dates are messed up.  The Buyer is told to have the item returned by Jan 14 and on the mater Return page it shows the Refund due date is Jan 10 ... Delivery isn't until the 8th (today).  Anyway, i am sure this is a glitch and wanted to bring it to someone's attention for correction.

Hi @mr_lincoln, a return can be opened as soon as an item has been paid for. While I know this can seem confusing at first, there are a variety of reasons that this may be needed - sometimes information is provided to the buyer after payment that makes it clear the item will need to be returned or an item may be marked as damaged in transit before delivery occurs, as examples.

That being said, the dates for the buyer return the item by and for you to refund by could use some investigating. The column on the master refund page you've shared titled Refund due date is likely referring to the response due date in this instance, so we may need to look at how this date is determined. Either way, I can confirm that you would not be expected to be refunded until after a return was delivered back to you.

I wanted to add, @vrykalak, that since this promotion is for Auction Style Listings, it wouldn't apply to the fixed price listings that you have submitted. I hope this clears up any confusion!

Oops!
I could have sworn it started out as auction & fixed price.
But it sure 'nuf says Auctions only.
Apologies for the rant.

No worries, @vrykalak! Happy to help get this cleared up 🙂

I completely agree with what you are saying about Jewelry. It seems like 'overseas' sellers tend to misrepresent item in the jewelry category. This harms all of us by reinforcing the reputation of being easily ripped off  on eBay. They are so tricky!!! And it mucks up the searches.

I love me, thanks.

I had to ship on Saturday because there was no way the packages would arrive on Tuesday if I shipped on Monday. Already I had a buyer returning items because they arrived after the estimate.  Which imho was bogus because he purchased on Friday and did not have them by Tuesday. First class mail fro Washington to Ohio.

this estimated stuff is costing me money and frustrate. Am I now expected to ship on saturdays?    It seems unreasonable.

I had a large order I won through Auctions. I tried to pay but the order wouldn’t let me pay as I have my order shipped to a PO Box. The Seller told me the problem and before I had a chance to change the address to my street address they canceled My order. I had worked many days on the shipment and was very disappointed. I did not ask for the order to be canceled. I am sure the Seller was disappointed because I won most of the bids at the starting bid.

NOW I am not allowed to do any auctions due to this seller canceling my order possibly using “ trouble with address” OR “Buyer requested cancellation” I have always paid for everything I have won at auctions. I was in the process of paying for that order also.

I think this is unfair. I do agree with the actions taken by eBay to restrict “serial cancelers” BUT why isn’t a message sent to the Buyer to see IF the Seller is telling the truth or just trying to pass the responsibility onto the Buyer saving them defects.

This restriction has made my purchases go from over a thousand to under 50 this year. I like the thrill of auctions and most of my purchases are bought through auctions.

sorry to blast you today... I just couldn’t remember on Wednesdays to post all my questions

Hi @imakesugar, when a buyer provides an incorrect address it is best for the seller to cancel the transaction and have the buyer repurchase the items with the correct address. Once items are won / purchased the buyers address cannot be updated in the Order Details.

If you are receiving an error message or block when attempting to place a bid then you'll need to contact Customer Service for more details.

Hello, so I have two returns that are 'falsely' not as described returns. Both of them are clearly the situation, and I have pointed out to eBay that I am supposed to be protected. Nobody seems to know how to get them off my service metrics as promised, and I was not given any credit for the return label on one. I've talked to everybody in the company, it seems, but nobody has any clue how to remove it from the service metrics before the next evaluation period. Help???

Hi @medallion-trading-company - in these types of situations the shipping label subsidy and the removal of service metrics happens within the next billing cycle/evaluation. If you reported the buyer in the return and it's been closed you can expect it to no longer be visible on your Seller Performance within the next billing cycle. Thanks!
