As you stated they could have been promoted listings, but why are they showing up when searching for time ending soonest? It would be fine to have then show up on best match, but not when you filter by a specific way a buyer wants to purchase or look for an item.

Hi @greg213213, I just ran a search for laptops and sorted by ending soonest to test this out; in the results, everything is organized by the ending soonest filter correctly with the exception of the results that are promoted listings. If you can give me a URL that is showing something different, I'll be happy to investigate further.

I've been trying to print my quarterly sales information for my income tax preparation for the last two days and it has been unavailable.  Is ebay still supporting Sales Reports Plus?

Re: Community Chat, January 22 @ 1:00 pm PT - General Topics

Are there any known site issues relating to unpaid item cases right now?

I have the UPI assistant enabled but it didn't open a case for a recent transaction on the day it was supposed to. I ended up opening the case manually.

The case is supposed to close today but the buyer messaged saying they've been out of the country and they will pay in 2 days when they return. That's fine with me so I went to turn off the UPI assistant but got an error message. I don't know if that's because I had to manually open the case or not. I can't tell if this specific case is going to automatically close tonight or if it's on manual right now.

I am selling a $600 cell phone on eBay (perfect condition). It will be unlocked upon payment.

I am scared someone will buy it and return it saying it wasn’t as described and send back a $100 different phone or box of rocks. Should I videotape myself packing the item before I send it to the customer in front of a notary or postal worker? If a return comes and I can’t be home when it is delivered, should I go to post office and record myself opening it in front of a postal worker? Or should I do this in front of a notary? How do I prevent fraudulent returns?

Hi @thepackratspalace - congrats on listing your phone! When it comes to protecting yourself from potential returns the best thing to do is make sure that you list the item with great photos and description.

We believe that most people are good - so the chance of the particular scenario you mention occurring is low. However, if you're looking to protect yourself from things like that the best thing to do would be to consider offering Free Returns. This would offer you protections in the event that an item is returned to you damaged or altered. You can read more about those protections here (specific section  Protection for all sellers>Abusive buying activity>An item is returned after it was used or damaged by the buyer). Thanks!

Are you saying promoted listings aren’t in the buyer’s requested search order? Meaning, the items ending soonest might not be ending soonest; might be promoted listings? If that’s the case, the search isn’t true. Is that intentional?

Hi @greg213213, this is definitely something on our radar to look into for potential enhancements, but currently promoted listings do not take into account additional search refinements. For this example, the very nature of "Ending soonest" would invalidate the purpose of promoted listings - it would not be possible to promote a listing and give it increased visibility while also placing it exactly where it would appear chronologically. That being said, promoted/sponsored listings are not a concept that is unique to the eBay Marketplace, so the potential for this to create confusion for the majority of buyers is very low (as they have had similar experiences when shopping online).

Hi
Is there any reason the ebay mobile app help has not been working the Mobile App boards?
It seems like the Mobile App was so important to ebay yet they seem to have stopped answering there .
I don't believe a call to CS would be of any help  for an App issue
The iOS board has not seen activity since 1/9 & just yesterday 1/21 finally a few posts appeared on the Android board.

When answering on the boards I would always direct Mobile App questions to those boards but have not bothered in the last week because there are so many posts there with 0 replies from other members as well as ebay Mobile app team
Can you shed any light
Thanks

Hi brian@ebay (mentioning you because you commented on a thread about this back on 1/9)

Can we get an update on when to expect a fix for the significantly over-stated estimated delivery times shown on item listings?

I have reported this several times in the last year and so have other sellers. It's been going on for months and months without any fix. This bug killed sales during the holidays as eBay was showing buyers that delivery would be after Christmas when it wasn't even close to the Christmas delivery cut-off. It is still not fixed.

When I ship same or next day and have done so religiously for 15 years, my buyers should not see delivery estimates to my own zip code of 6 days for Priority Mail and 7 days for First Class. I have never failed to meet the top-rated shipping metrics.

Below is a link to a related thread:

https://community.ebay.com/t5/Technical-Issues/Estimated-Shipping-shows-10-days-no-matter-what-shipp...

These overstated handling times are killing sales and negatively impacting the livelihood of sellers and revenue for eBay.

How can we get this bug escalated to highest priority?

Thanks!

What would you do?

We are on the East Coast Buyer is on west coast in Haiwaii

Buyer purchases a item on a saturday after the post office is closed.

Buyer contacts us 3 hours after purchase wanting faster shipping paid by them delivered on Monday/Tuesday. Now Sunday is not a business day and monday is MLK Day.

We spend the time to look into this. USPS/Fedex closest delivery is Wednesday or Thursday. UPS Says tuesday but it would be $175.00. So we let this buyer know what we can do. No reply at all.

Sunday night my crew comes in and packages up all sales from Saturday/Sunday so all are scan sheet ready to go for tuesday.

Get a return request from this buyer AFTER all is packaged up reasoning "No longer want"

Now how do you handle such a mess? The shipment is now at the USPS not scanned in just dropped off at the dock door to be processed the next business day.

Keep in mind you can't redo a scan sheet.

I have 2 listings that were created February 28th, but when I sort my listings by ending soonest I can see they are set to renew on the 1st of the month. This appears to be a recurrence of the glitch where listings were renewing on the wrong date after everything was changed to GTC.

@Anonymous  - Can you look into this one please? https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_nkw=UF535&_sacat=0&_ipg=200&_sop=16

Supposed to be sorted by price highest first, but I see some lower ones in out of order places that don't say "sponsored".

For example:

I see it go from $136.00 to $118.98 to $132.76

And then I see one at $128.98 then a few in the $88-$89 range and then $127.16

I just did another search for laptops using ending soonest and it was showing items that weren't ending for 20 days. They were promoted listings. I think that this is just a manipulation of how a person wants to make a purchase and makes you jump through all the non-essential listings.

I would love to see proof that this doesn't cause confusion for buyers.  I find the placement of the sponsored posts to be frustrating when I am trying to do search filtering.  When I can't block them with my adblocker it makes it even more discouraging to buy stuff on eBay.  I think there may be more advanced users than eBay realizes.

Re: Community Chat, January 22 @ 1:00 pm PT - General Topics

I ship 90 percent of my shipments  UPS Ground and I am having an issue with eBay telling my customer the shipment will take 3-5 days when in reality UPS is GUARANTEES 1 day delivery.    This is a huge problem as I am losing sales due to extended false estimated shipping times.   I have enclosed examples showing UPS Guaranteed delivery dates and eBay estimated delivery dates.

Talking with some eBay reps they have told me UPS Ground is not GUARANTEED,  but this is wrong information.  UPS Ground to the same zone is Guaranteed by UPS to be one day delivery.  This is confirmed by UPS management, my UPS sales rep and documentation on the UPS web site.

I need help getting this resolved.
