I received my email from Ebay for my Seller Protection Summary.  I really like getting this email but I think it could be more informative and therefore more useful to sellers.

 

I would like to see a link to the details of what Ebay is reporting as how they protected us.  So if it says they protected me against a couple of defects, I should be able to click on that and see what transactions they are talking about.

 

I personally think this would be a GREAT enhancement to the email and very useful for Ebay members.

A buyer purposely used an incorrect address.

Requested USPS shipping and not to use Priority.

Because the address is not correct USPS returned the item "postage due"

 

There needs to be a way for sellers to notify other sellers.

 

What are my options in this case? I have reported the buyer and added them to the BBL but it will cost me more to get the item back then the item is worth at this point.

 

What is happening with eBay "helping" sellers and backing sellers with bad buyers?

Ebay is prominently displaying "Same Day Shipping" on items that sellers specify as 1-day handling time.
That is false advertising. It is a serious issue that needs to be treated as such.

Brian- were you able to find out about the password protection on eBay shipping labels? Is this a site bug or is it an intended change?

Why does Ebay block messages between users without telling the people involved. I had an issue on items that combined from mail to a new listing with local pick-up. We continued our conversation to meet  on the original listing and tried to exchange phone numbers etc. My customer was upset as there appeared to be an issue with my replies. I realized and called support to verify. I understand why it was blocked, but 3 emails were block and we didn't even know it. I was upset, the customer was upset and it turned in to a real pain. If you can auto block, then you can auto notify that you blocked the email.

I have a question about shipping. 

 

I work during the week so I often pack and prepare orders the night before the ship date. 

With the new bulk shipping ebay shipping program, the date does not always "roll over" to reflect the next day date.  For example, If I ship tonight, the labels might say ship date 2/5/2020 even though it is after 5pm and I intend to ship on 2/6/2020.

 

I generally remember to change the dates so this hasn't  happened very often and when I forget to change the date, I void the label and reship with the correct ship date.

 

Since my post office doesn't see to have a problem with the labels I generally do this because of eBay's shipping metric/punishment system but I wonder now if it really matters?

 

If I sell something today with one day handling, the item is suppose to ship tomorrow (2/6/2020).  If I accidently forget to change the date, how is this treated with eBay's system?  Does it count as a late shipment if it is not validated tracking on 2/5/2020?

 

If it is validated in the one day handling time 2/6/2020 is that enough to satisfy eBay's metric, shipped on time, defect, punishment system?

I want to second the suggestion on search location - we should be able to set a default location for search. I would expand it to include seller location. We should not have to make this choice every time we search for an item.

 

There are many times I have given up and gone elsewhere because I got tired of wading through listings from China, even when I said US only.  I do not buy with enough leadtime to wait for items from China - I want to be able to easily buy from a USA seller 😀

I started using 'eBay Send' when it was the pilot program. I shipped about 5 packages over the last few weeks. One of the packages has been stuck here in Illinois since Jan 27, 2019 and my buyer is starting to complain. The other packages have been moving along. Thank you Brian.

Hi @postcardcountry, this sounds like somewhat of a complex issue and I think we would need a little more detail to really dig into it.  I'd like to know what browser you are using and at what time you are downloading reports/seeing this issue so we can identify if this is somehow related to time zones or daylight savings time. I will send you an email today after the chat so you can respond with examples of the discrepancies you are seeing, either as attached files or as screenshots.

There's an asterisk next to the defects and the fine print tells you, "Feedback and defects removed during the last calendar month. To maintain privacy of the buyer, we cannot disclose the transactions where we removed feedback or defects."

 

However- I would like to see that kind of information for the shipping credits so we know which transactions they applied to.

The actions of eBay say otherwise. I think many sellers would agree. I still understand you are the middle man here.

Just a little info that may assist you.  Once a transaction is created in Ebay both the buyer and the seller have access to each other's contact information.  For the seller if they go to their SH and then to their orders, click on the Order Number, the buyer's address, phone number and email address will display.

Hi @gwzcomps - we refine the search functionality regularly, and work to make sure that things are simple and easy to find. I'm sure Trinton is looking forward to your thread!

 

You are not able to save a shipping filter like 'NA only' under your default filter preferences, but I'm happy to make a suggestion for future enhancement. Thanks!
