After dealing with ebay shipping for years and them finally not letting me ship any of my items media mail though they fully qualify, I switched to a company called Pirateship.com. Yes it's legit. I love it and the rates are as good or better, plus very easy to do international orders with customs forms and all, plus it interfaces with ebay so it automatically shares the data with ebay so tracking is uploaded and items to ship automatically imported.
Excellent customer support as well. Something we can all agree is lacking big time, here.

It seems that eBay has eliminated the USPS Ground option. I think this is because, with discounts, Priority is only a few pennies more. And since they added UPS, UPS Ground in usually cheaper. If you really need Parcel Select, you can still buy your label on PayPal with the same discount.

USPS Parcel Select is still available to buy/ print.......it can get buried in the long list of options.

I no longer see it as an option if printing postage directly from eBay. Nowhere . It is not ANYWHERE on the L-O-N-G list of options.

I also can't find the USPS parcel ground option anymore (even though that's what the buyers chose), and even though I've entered a size (for example 18"x15"x8" and a 7 # weight), it is giving me options for small flat rate boxes and envelopes that are no where near this size!! I assume it's a bug, but it means I won't buy my shipping labels from ebay until they fix it. I won't pay a few extra $ to ship larger items like this via priority when I only was paid for ground.

@rebell45 Coast to coast shipping of items over 4 lbs Priority Mail can double compared to Parcel Select ...

Ok, let's go thru what browsers are having trouble with this..........I'm using firefox, and it's showing parcel select, as shown. What browsers are you folks using?

Not any more. The difference is just a few cents, especially since Parcel Select Ground is now also subject to the dreaded "dimensional weight." Here are the current price for comparison. For Top Rated Sellers, Priority will usually be cheaper after their 3% additional discount for Priority Mail. Zone 9 doesn't count; it consists of just a few remote Pacific islands.
And here's a link to the USPS rates document in case you want to look up higher weights.

Your package is over 1 cubic foot, so it will ship at the dimensional weight of 13 pounds. To Zone 8, the cost would be $46.36 via Parcel Select, and $46.71 via Priority Mail. A difference of 35 cents, not "a few extra $". Surely the insurance and the faster shipping time would be worth 35 cents at this time of year.
Buyers choose Parcel Select Ground because the shipping calculator makes it LOOK a lot cheaper. But that's just because the calculator shows the retail price for Priority Mail by default.

I've shipped packages this size by USPS economy Parcel Select ground before. But as others have reported here and in other threads here, that option has disappeared a few days ago apparently.
In this case eBay calculated and collected $8 from the buyer, and my lowest cost USPS option is now Priority mail at $17.
Two days ago same thing happened, but I ate about $4 on that item.
As I type this, I just head back from eBay support (phone call) and they confirmed USPS has eliminated Economy parcel select ground service.

Well, somebody should tell that to whoever is in charge of publishing the USPS pricing charts, because the current version includes Parcel Select Ground. Also, all other companies that sell USPS postage still sell Parcel Select (PayPal, stamps.com, etc.).

It's not reasonable to expect an eBay customer service rep to be fully informed about USPS options and policies. Especially since they are known to just make things up in order to get callers off the phone.

Yep - I got one now. eBay allowed me to chose usps parcel select ground as the shipping method when posting, but does not give it to me now that item sold & I'm going after a shipping label. eBay collected $11.29 from buyer. Priority Mail is $16.14, or $13.60 with a Priority Medium Flat-Rate box. But FedEx Home Delivery is only $8.14. Going back to buyer to ask if shipping Fedex is OK.

Most of that cost difference is because the prices were calculated based on different weights.
$11.29 is the cost to ship 2 pounds to Zone 8 via Parcel Select Ground.
$16.14 is the cost to ship 3 pounds to Zone 8 via the online Priority Mail rate.
The cost of an online Priority Mail label to Zone 8 for 2 pounds is $11.59. So for the same weight, the Priority label would cost you only 30 cents more. If you go elsewhere online to purchase your Parcel Select Ground label (such as through PayPal), the label for 3 pounds will cost $15.79, i.e., just 35 cents less than Priority.
