Did you mean:

there is no such thing as ebay customer service

Subject says it all. It seems ebay will only accept a contact, comment or question about a few topics that THEY care about. If you don't fit in their little pigeonholes they could not care less, and they offer NO means of contact. They keep sending me emails telling me 'a new device has logged on' when that is false, and I can find no way to inform them of their screw-up. So now I have to send these emails to spam and wonder if I will miss any messages that are actually legitimate.

I feel sorry for all you sellers out there. Since they make it so hard to deal with their 'system' I will be looking elsewhere to shop. It's almost like they don't WANT any business.

Re: there is no such thing as ebay customer service

"eBay is simply trying to protect you."

I'm sure that was the original intent, but when they leave you no way to let them know it's incorrect, and they keep doing it, it becomes simply annoying and foolish.

Thanks to all who replied. Blocking the messages blocks everything, as I feared, so I'm forced to treat it as ongoing spam that won't stop. No point in going over this any more, ebay clearly doesn't care and won't bother to correct their error, so let's not waste any more time on this.

Best of luck to everyone, stay safe.

That's not news.  It's been like that for years.

If you have Facebook, you can look eBay up there and ask any questions.  The people who answer tend to be American, English speaking, more knowledgeable, and occasionally helpful.

eBay has begun sending such messages for each sign-in from an unrecognized browser. Unrecognized just means that the browser has no cookies from a previous sign-in to that account, or the IP address does not correspond to a previous sign-in.

I do not think there is a way to disable those messages.

If you are routinely erasing your browser cookies, or changing your network address, you can expect to receive such messages when you sign in again.

Do the browser, location and time correspond to your own sign-in activity? If so, you can ignore the message.

Keep in mind that the location may not be precise; it may correspond to the location of the network rather than your actual location. Browser information may not always be available.

If you do not recognize the location, time or browser, and you suspect that someone else may have gained access to your account, you may want to change your eBay password.

That's not true at all. You can contact eBay from here on any subject:

https://www.ebay.com/help/contact_us?id=4002&st=10

However there is no need to contact eBay when you receive those messages if you were the one who signed it. It's stated right in the message:

If this was you, there’s nothing you need to do. If it wasn’t, please change your password right away.

eBay is simply trying to protect you.

Re: there is no such thing as ebay customer service

The message is NOT incorrect and it's not foolish. If you spend a minute or two thinking about it, it will make sense to you that eBay wants to protect your account.

eBay has no way to recognize the device or browser if you keep clearing your cookies. You can control this yourself by using your browser's settings to keep the cookies for eBay if you don't want to receive the messages.
