eBay search results are now displaying the generic word 'Seller' instead of the specific Seller IDs

Hello,

Starting from today ebay Search Results no longer showing Seller ID, only generic word "Seller". Is it a technical issue or intentional change? Is it a technical issue or intentional change?

Thank you.

And, as of this morning for me, the ability to send coupons with seller offers has now disappeared.  From the seller hub>summary>send offers, it used to have an option at the bottom left to attach a coupon when sending seller offer.  Now that has disappeared too.  This is simply horrible over the last few weeks.

@ga5150  - @mcdougle4248  posted about having that issue a few days ago too. I don't think there's been any updates or workarounds, but you might want to post to that thread as well so reports of that problem can be kept together and (hopefully) escalated.

I just checked one of my eligible listings and the option to send a coupon along with the offer is still missing.

@ga5150, click on Tell what you think near the bottom of the pop-up and let eBay know your thoughts.

I had already used the Tell Us Your Thoughts feature before I ever posted here.  I also posted in the other thread that was linked regarding this.  It's almost like they are curtailing ways to sell more items, which can't be good for business!

Thank you!

Strangely when I passed this issue on to the eBay Facebook team their testing led them to if you are not signed in the sellers names display. I tested and confirmed that was the case. Still not helpful when anyone using eBay for normal day to day tasks(research/buying)....WOULD be signed in.

As per Facebook help:  "see what more we can find out. I have a feeling this is not a glitch but something that was intentional. I'd like to find out more though because it's rare when a change like this happens and our community/social media teams aren't given advance warning.////We're working on providing that feedback to our product development team now, that thread is going to help for sure!"

Curious response from the eBay Facebook team. I took these screenshots while signed in just a little while ago.

I thought so too. It definitely has become difficult to know if the loop is continuous or is broken in multiple places in the middle. It is very strange a) that would be something they would want to remove and b) that it would work that way when you are not signed in. As for the different browsers, clearing cache those have become catchall solutions anytime something is not working 100%.

Re: Coupons. We are hoping to get those sometime by the end of the decade on eBay Canada.

Earlier this morning the option to send a coupon with the offer was still missing. As of right now, the option to send a coupon with the offer is back. Are you seeing the option now, too?

Great!  I used the Tell us what you think link again to let them know I am happy to see the option return and hope that it will stay.

Where are you seeing this compact menu, and will it apply to all searches?

That is the search Customize menu that sets search default behavior. It is found by performing a search using a desktop browser. From the search results page, click on the icon in the upper right that lets the user choose between List or Gallery view, and there should be a Customize option that produces that menu.

Re: eBay search results are now displaying the generic word 'Seller' instead of the specific Seller

It's been 2 weeks now that this nonsense hasn't been fixed. I can only come up with two possible explanations:

1. eBay's dev team is completely and utterly incompetent or outright mismanaged.

2. eBay is lying to everyone and this wasn't an error or test, but rather a deliberate change they wanted to push out unannounced.

Either way, what a garbage company.

I used to be able to log off and re sign in and it would fix this...now not so much

I agree , put seller ID's back on search results

some sellers I would rather use..some not

why make users click on every item to see seller ID / store name

I prefer to know who I am buying from , after starting to recognize some sellers , some I would use ...some I would not,  per their feedback.

why make users click on every item to see seller ID
