Unable to edit DESCRIPTION in my listings

I wanted to revise the DESCRIPTION in my listing based on a question that I received. I have done it countless times and had just done one only several days previously. I went into edit the listing, everything was normal until the DESCRIPTION area.  After the font and typing info line there was a large white/empty space where the Description info block should have been. The existing info was not there and there was no field to edit. I checked other listings with the same result. I then contacted Ebay help & they couldn't determine a solution. During the chat, I thought to check my old computer (which had an old version of Edge) and the DESCRIPTION info was there and editable per normal. I told that to the Ebay person & they told me to delete all the cache on my computer. After the chat I did that, but I still could not edit DESCRIPTION on my new computer.

Several days elapsed and the problem still persisted.  I searched the Ebay Community Forums and found others have had this problem in the past but had no solution. Then Microsoft was updating Windows 10 again and I thought that maybe this was a problem with the Edge browser- everything worked the week before, so something happened that it didn't work right this week.  I tried the Chrome browser- DESCRIPTION was visible & editable.  I tried the DuckDuckGo browser - DESCRIPTION was visible & editable. 

My conclusion is that the problem is not the result of any software changes made by Ebay. But it seems to be related to the latest updates of the Edge browser.

Good Diagnosis!!!!  Ebay & browsers constantly update but sometimes they don't "synch" right.  Usually clears up in a day or 2.

My standard operating procedure (lol) especially when stuff is missing or I can't enter something....is to check to see if the browser is updated, try a different browser, close/open browser, clear cache..........  One of those usually works..........

I have no answer. But as a software engineer who has been developing web-based software for 15 years, I  will say that every company I have worked for uses Chrome for development and testing. Edge has  always been the PITA browsers when it comes to browser-specific compatibility problems.

I run Firefox myself.  I hate Edge, can't stand Chrome, though I have to use it for some sites specifically.

Also run Opera GX and primarily use that for YouTube.  Kills the ads for videos well.

If I run into issues on Firefox with eBay, I will first try a CTRL+SHIFT+R and force a refresh.  Simply restarting the browser doesn't do that.

If that fails, then I would try Opera next.

Another thing to keep in mind.  Listings also can't be edited if there is an offer pending or is an active auction with bids.

If a feature works in one browser but not another, quite often the problem is related to something in the cache or cookies. Once that has been ruled out by clearing the cache "for all time" and by manually deleting specific site cookies, it is also possible the problem is related to certain browser settings or add-ons that are installed.  Or the problem may indeed be with the particular browser type or version.

Some add-ons to focus on in particular: ad blockers and grammar checkers have both been associated with problems displaying item descriptions, or even deleting item descriptions entirely upon editing or listing.

Sometimes the problem is triggered by something eBay has done, something in a particular browser update, or something a user has done. Or a combination of any of those three.

I believe Ebay is being hacked and lots of ads are having this issue. When you use the inspect tool on your browser , you will see that your description has been replaced with spam links like this:
