Search fails to find an item

I have a lot of saved searches but often I find that a straight google finds listings but the Ebay search doesn't.

Example:

ipm-429 or ipm* should find this

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/124297525571

One clue may be that I am in the UK but the seller does not ship to the UK. Could this do it? I can easily buy via a colleague in the US.

Thank you in advance,

Peter

Re: Search fails to find an item

a lot of US listings do show on ebay.co.uk.

Those would primarily be listings for items that do not ship to the UK.

For maximum results, try searching on the same site the seller has listed on.

However this is not a universal answer; a lot of US listings do show on ebay.co.uk.

The .com listings that show up on .co.uk would be those listings that offer shipping to the UK.

Also, it depends on how many items the search finds. Both .com and .co.uk give emphasis to items that are listed locally, because many buyers prefer to purchase items locally. So the more items are available that were listed on .co.uk, the less likely it is for an item that was listed on .com to show up on .co.uk.

Re: Search fails to find an item

Many US listings on .co.uk do not ship to the UK, so this is more complex.

But looking on .com (or just using google) seems to be a good solution.

I also believe that Ebay blocks messaging to sellers who do not sell to your country. Or it may be a seller config, to not receive messages from such countries. It may be available to US sellers only. The message I send disappears; it doesn't show under Messages.
