Re: Reporting issues related to the ongoing technical issue with Item Specifics

When eBay makes changes to categories and their subcategories, also when they make changes to item specifics since they do not announce before or after that they are making changes. Combined with their move to GTC which cause sellers to not edit or relist most of their item. The lease they could do after making such changes is in the seller hub under active listings create a column that points alerts sellers to listings that need attention. It could easily be used to let sellers know to open and edit the listing and check the categories and item specifics. This would give sellers notification changes need to be made and keep listings active and over a little time correct and errors that were created due to changes being made by ebay not the sellers. When the GTC photo issue was happening they ended up having to do something like this so it is not to inconceivable that it could be done.

Well, looks like it will have to be piecemeal patching as they go along

please add to the to do list

- remove silly things from list of materials for skirts, such as aluminium, bronze, titanium, wood

These may exist in the wildest corners of some designers collection but .......

- what’s happened with the brand names, why are there hundreds of them...it takes forever to go through them....I’ve never heard of a mr potato head ladies blouses

Remove the update from the site. Let it revert back to where it was. Take the update and work on to fix whatever is causing all these issues and bring it back at a later date, like AFTER the holiday season and then move forward with the update and any long range plan they may have.

Don't the thread to turn into a back and forth, but just for info....that was asked during the facebook for Business session.  The tech guy said to roll it back would have caused as many problems as it's causing.  Apparently, they have no "reset"/go back ability on the site.

Dang that's scary too.  It doesn't seem well thought out, but that is just my opinion.

Thank you for the info.

Re: Reporting issues related to the ongoing technical issue with Item Specifics

Interchange list box not working on ebay motors auto parts listing page, my watch list was "missing" whenever I tried to acces it, and problems with log in page, was told to switch from IE11 to firefox.

My watch list and log in worked on firefox, but still cant access interchange list on ebay motors listing, and now whenever I attempt an item listing search, I get the same "missing" message on firefox I was getting with my watch list using IE11.

And no, I am not going to try switching to Chrome, this is clearly ebay, not my browser.

@dhbookds

Thank you for reiterating what was shared on the FB for Business. I posted earlier up thread about why I think, just using common sense, they do still have the prior to the 15th coding documentation. Any intelligent and organized platform has documentation.

Where the problem occurred is if they had not pushed sellers to keep on listing/revising to try and make this ebay major faux pas work, yes they could have done a clean rollback to prior the 15th. But since we now have sellers who have started using the "new" updated/upgraded Cats/IS just to get their items listed, if they now rolled back to prior 15th it will compromise entries made on the 15th and after. So now it is just a jumbled mess. No one compared what they last upgraded a few months ago and prior to what they planned as a new upgrade to see if there were duplications or problems BEFORE they went live. JMO.

There is a great reply on eComm dated 10/29 where a previous ebay coder explains how the ebay coding system works.

Re: Reporting issues related to the ongoing technical issue with Item Specifics

I'm sure it did, and I've heard of buyers having trouble checking out. I bought an item several days ago, and instantly the payment came out of Paypal but eBay said it was having trouble processing my payment. The sale wasn't complete til later when eBay finally said my payment had went through. My payment had instantly processed through Paypal, so that wasn't even true that eBay was having trouble processing my payment!!!

Re: Reporting issues related to the ongoing technical issue with Item Specifics

I updated  most of my listings and the amount of required information was random.  Some only required Brand and size while others included a couple more fields. These discrepancies can be seen best from the mobile and the buyer doesn't see the most relevant info unless they open the page. On this IS summary page I just noticed how pre-owned is defined.  Is this necessary? You could have a question mark that u can click which explains it.  Rather writing: "Condition: Pre-owned. An item  that has been used or worn previously. See the seller's listing for full details and description of any imperfections." This implies there are imperfections. New clothes also have flaws or imperfections but no mention of that. There is a special box provided in the listing form in the web application to describe condition.  Honestly, the mobile app listings makes me look incompetent  with all the redundant  inconsistent information.  Where is the enhanced experience?

Re: Reporting issues related to the ongoing technical issue with Item Specifics

The update said the missing data has been restored to sell hub. No, I'm sorry it is still wrong.

I've had one sale this morning, a $12 item plus 4.50 shipping - so 16.50, but my Today total shows 17.34.  I go to the Performance tab, under Sales, it shows this one item was 17.34 (total sales column). No, ebay, it was not.

I looked at the 2 items I sold yesterday, 1 has the correct total, 1 does not.

Re: Reporting issues related to the ongoing technical issue with Item Specifics

There were some great options to either click on, drop down or fill in in the purses category, and now those are all gone. The bigest issue is that all the boxes to fill in for size are gone. Width, Height, Depth, and Strap drop. I'm having to put sizing in the description, and buyers are contacting me for measurements.  There was also a place to add features and that is gone too. Every purse is different and features are important. Please bring these basics back. Thank for giving us a place to communicate these issues.

Re: Reporting issues related to the ongoing technical issue with Item Specifics

It's come to my attention this small difference in totals is likely sales tax. Ok that explains it, but I don't understand why sales tax is showing up in my seller sales total. I never saw that in the total of the sale I received and I'm not responsible for paying that or accounting for it, so it will just cause falsely inflated numbers for our gross sales.

My sales are down 45.7% compared to prior 31 days. Please explain why this has happened to my ebay store?

Re: Reporting issues related to the ongoing technical issue with Item Specifics

Nopedy, Nope, Nope.  I was on vacation, tried to change my handling time back to 1.....While the item count is down to slightly less than 1000 now, it still hasn't populated the fields that were populated when I went on vacation.  You have told us on every update for sellers to not change anything and items will be filled in.  It is random what is missing; not just size.  Since you said this was fixed in your Oct 30 update, does that mean I have to update about 50% of my listings now?

Re: Reporting issues related to the ongoing technical issue with Item Specifics

I believe that sales totals are now including any sales tax charged to the buyer, which isn't readily apparent because it happens behind the scenes.
