Possible Glitch? Not showing all listings

I found something strange, not sure if this is a new glitch.  For some search terms, I can't view all the listings.  For an example, when I search for "kenwood km x1" it says 4 results but shows only 1 listing. If I change the sort method, it shows different listings.  Mobile App search results correctly show all 4 results.  What could be causing this issue? I don't have any filters assigned. I've tried on 3 different browsers, and 2 different eBay accounts. Same result.  It does the same thing to other long tail search terms as well.  Some general terms do show a correct number of items.

I don't think anyone says listings are not hidden. Search is borked and has been for some time. The OP should make sure that Ebay is not defaulting their search to a specific category. He/she should also open the listing page to see if it shows all the missing listings somewhere on the page.

What the cheerleaders say is that Ebay is not hiding listings for specific people to meet some quota. That makes no sense.

I understand what you are saying and I agree. For the most part I`m happy with my sales but seeing these search issues and glitches is frustrating. I can only imagine what my sales might be like if the site was repaired and working 100%. I`d also like to add that if seasoned ebayers are having these issues....what effect will they have on new/unseasoned ebuyers? I`m just concerned and I think my concerns are pretty legitimate. Ebay didn`t promise me a rose garden and I`m not expecting one but having the site working properly isn`t too much to ask IMO.

I see "browse related" on the right side of the page in a vertical line there are items. Is that what you see?

Yes, that is what I see. Are those the other items that should have been shown in the Search?

And do you have all that dead air under the Sponsored Listing section?

Re: Possible Glitch? Not showing all listings

I have noticed this has been happening since last night and seems to be still going on this morning.  A lot of Sony VHS tapes I have just listed only comes up on the search when the setting is "Best Match" but when I try to compare the cost with other blank VHS lots it only comes up with one listing when there is supposed to be six of the same quantity showing.  I really hope this gets fixed by Saturday afternoon,  I have scheduled listings getting ready to go that I want to have seen by everyone who searches for them.

Re: Possible Glitch? Not showing all listings

I was planning on listing today a lot of items I cleaned up, inspected, researched, took pictures, weighed, and measured yesterday. All the preparation to write listings takes a lot of time.

Now I am going to search for each one of those items, and any that are thrown into this only ONE result bad programming will not be listed. Already found one that is thrown into this bad programming and won't be listing that item. I wonder how many more of my items won't be listed today because of this.

No, those items are what ebay considers "similar" items, but not the exact things I searched for. They are not what I want in otherwords.

Yep, lots of white space under "sponsored" junk sites off ebay.

Re: Possible Glitch? Not showing all listings

A blue did weigh in on this when called on the TECHNICAL DIFFICULTY board and he was PERPLEXED as to what was going on, it seems to be site wide since at least yesterday morning. It is a VERY BIG PROBLEM! There are more than a few posts about it on that board and Power Seller board. some of the discussions are under the "EPID" poats. I had no sales here yesterday with 1085 listings, Had 1 sale yesterday on Betsy with only 29 items listed!

Re: Possible Glitch? Not showing all listings

That's where I am going to spend my energy today, that other site.

Btw sellers, if you want to find all results add a boolean minus sign after your keywords. Put in something that for sure won't subtract any results. Like -shoes (if you are searching for something completely unrelated to shoes).

Re: Possible Glitch? Not showing all listings

Same ISSUE searching for "vintage 1970's annalee christmas santa". Getting a SINGLE different Listing depending on which FILTER being checked off! EVEN MORE DISTURBING is the long list of OFF SITE RETAILERS with ads for ANNALEE Dolls under the single listing being shown. These sites are NOT EBAY Sellers, some have PHone numbers on the sides of their Home Web Sites being shown.

Re: Possible Glitch? Not showing all listings

I had this same problem on a search.  I found that the 'Worldwide' filter displayed all the listings (more than even it said).  The US & North America filters DID NOT display more, despite checking several of the listings (from Worldwide filter) and verifying they were 'Item Location : state, US'

Anyone have a solution? Or called Ebay to see what they're saying about it?

This can't be intentional...

@b-elite*

I've reported it a few times before, but not this time.  A while back on my listing if I searched for Burberry Body I got other listings to show, but not the fragrance Burberry Body.  But if I searched for Body Burberry, the fragrance showed up.  That eventually was corrected, but it took a couple months.

I've spoken about this a few times on the Weekly Chat.  While they were puzzled, no one had answers.  They reported it, but nothing ever came from it that I know of.

Heck this search engine has a problem with plurals and has had since they came out with it site wide in 2014.  That has never been fixed either and I personally find this issue annoying as heck.
