New messages saying "Google refusing to connect"

Whenever I try to send a new message to someone it is popping up a window that has a broken piece of paper and says, "google.com is refusing to connect". I have tried 3 different browsers and cleared cache and cookies. The message does send, but sends up to 4 times even when it does not confirm sending it?!?

Just happened to me this morning, 8/1.  I was not trying to attach a photo.   

I sent two different buyers a message.  Unfortunately, Ebay sent it 3x to my buyers.    I want to message them to apologize, but that would only send 3 more.

Woke up to same problem I posted about yesterday, the one we're talking about here.  Still can't send photo in message due to same blocking popup.  I just messaged seller, w/o photok, but message still got blocked/kept spinning.  So  I gave up and clicked on 'cancel' and lo and behold message was sent, 3 times!  

I'm not going to make any more purchases until and when this BUG is fixed.

Same happening to us too. Feel bad all customers this morning got between 3-8 duplicate messages sent. As soon as you hit send message, it sits there and will not load to next page, but will keep sending the same message over and over. 

The trick is hit "Send Message" and close tab fast. If you do this fast enough before any popup, only 1 message will be sent. 

This was happening on 3 different browsers on 3 different devices so it 100% is an issue on eBay's side.

I think in theory it doesn't do that all the time. because when I wrote that apology letter for the spam, it did the same thing and it stayed open about 15 seconds before I closed it (I took the time to take a screenshot of the errors) so it was at least 15 seconds), after closing it I looked at my outbound messages and found it only had one going out for the Apology letter.
But the ones before that was duplicates from a inventory inquiry which was through the automated contact the seller from the item description page. 

As for closing it immediately everyone definitely could benefit from that at least maybe the most it might spam is 2 messages.

Exactly the same for me. I would love to apologise to all the people I have inadvertently sent 3 or 4 messages to but it will just get sent another 3 or 4 times, annoying them even more!

I have spoken to ebay and they are now aware of the problem and 'working hard to fix it'

Users try to send an eBay message and get an error that says browser is refusing to connect to server, yet eBay sends multiple copies of that message. Some are reporting it happens only when they try to attach a photo and some are saying it happens regardless of attaching a photo. More details and screenshots throughout this discussion. Some are reporting getting an error that max number of messages has been exceeded, which could (??) be related to eBay sending so many duplicate copies:
