Checkout issues with PayPal

The checkout seems to be down ?? !!

Adding username/password in the popup paypal window and the nothing happens just the spinning wheel a few sec.

Tried from dif. devices and browsers but with the same result

My paypal account works fine from other sites

I am not having an issue buying because i am not trying to buy anything. It is all of my customers who when trying to checkout today are getting an error message or a message saying seller does not accept paypal and the fact that high SR Reps at paypal took an hour to explain to me what ebay is doing to people on purpose in order to push people into ebay managed payments. I have been with paypal for 20 years and they are honest people. Ebay are the ones that lie to you every day, every year about everything just like they said they are going to keep paypal and integrate it into their managed payment system and paypal said today that is a lie because ebay informed them they are no longer going to do business with paypal as of June 2020 so ebay cannot state the truth on anything therefore i believe paypal when they say ebay is causing all these issues on purpose.  Funny how no one is having problems checking out with sellers that switched over to ebay managed payments but they are with sellers who only use paypal like me and i just happened to get the invitation to switch over to ebay managed payments yesterday and now buyers are being blocked from paying for my items at checkout with paypal. So because i refuse to switch over ebay is blocking my customers when it is not even mandated yet to switch over until end of year. No biggee though, Amazon will gladly acept my money and fees as a seller and a buyer.

Now that is strange because now all of a sudden two people were able to checkout. At this point i cannot trust anything ebay says or does so after 20 years and two stores here i am done. Ebay cannot be trusted with my business because they do not care what things they mess around with that causes problems and loses money for business so i will be leaving as soon as contract is up. I will call and see if ebay will end the year contract early since they are the cause of our business losing money on a daily basis due to all the glitches and problems they are causing. Ebay used to be the best marketplace anywhere and now the worst. Goodluck to all who are having these issues. I am done. Cannot take the headaches any longer. Good luck all.

Since I'm the starter of this topic.

My problem was solved when I turned of 2Fac. security in my PP accout

Not a secure and good solution but at least I'm able to pay

eBay and PayPal today confirmed the signing of a previously-announced agreement to offer PayPal as a way to pay on eBay until July 2023. This new agreement builds on the payments partnership between the companies to make PayPal available as a payment option on eBay’s new intermediated payments model.

so the "stuff" about them ending it in 2020 isn't true........ to get into managed payments now, a seller has  to be invited........so there's no "way" to force them in.........right now only 6% of sellers are actually in managed payments and paypal is now accepted by those sellers as well.

Still having the same issue. I refuse to turn off 2 factor authentication with my Paypal account, it is not a real solution. I am unable to complete checkout process for items in cart by using Paypal as payment method. 😞 How can this take so long to fix? I have lots of items I would like to buy. Tried to use Safari instead of Chrome today, but did not help either.

@eburtonlab Thank you for your reply, I consider this solution inadequate too security-wise as basically the 'One Touch' is a 2-factor authentication bypass method and I do not want to bypass it (to maintain security). 🙂

I appreciate your security concerns.

I have not explored the "one-touch" feature, as my paypal account is working with eBay checkout without it. It might be possible to invoke the "one-touch" feature for your chosen device to complete checkout (if possible) and then revoke the "one-touch" authorization, so that the security issues are minimized.

Not the most elegant workaround, but it might enable you to complete checkout if nothing else works.

that is not by pass, it add a token on your device, if you not use the same device they still ask you the 2 step.

is this double security verification for paypal working on ebay?  Several people have confirmed if it was shut off in PP, the checkout could be completed on ebay........

Hi @dhbookds, we are looking into reports of checkout issues related to PayPal. I've seen some members of the Community share that when they turned off two factor authentication in PayPal the payment went through without a problem, but others have stated they were able to checkout with this feature turned on. Nothing specific to share at this time, but I've shared details with our tech teams and we are looking into the details.

I tried in diferent computers and phones, with and without 2fa, with and without one touch.. in diferents ebays like ebay.ba or ebay.fr.
Nothing is working when I try to check out.
I used My pp and ebay account for more than 9 years with no problem.
Any solution ??

Hi @jfregoni, the checkout issues that were discussed in this thread earlier in the year would be for different reasons from anything that has come up recently, so the workarounds suggested here may not be helpful for current issues. Can you tell me a little more about the trouble you are running into? Is there an error message you are seeing when trying to checkout?

When I select PayPal as a payment method, it start the verification progress but the spinning circle never stop.. Its lock there.. 

I tried with 2fa activated and deactivated, one touch activated and deactivated, different ebay alternatives, difefent browsers, phones, etc.. And it's always the same.. 

It used to work fine, but suddenly I have this problem

Could the OP be inadvertently triggering a security issue -- either on the part of eBay or PayPal -- by trying to access his PayPal account from another country? It sounds like things were working fine until this vacation.
