I've been using a Brother QL-700 label printer to print shipping labels for over a year with no issues,
until about Dec. 2017. Now, when I try to print a label, I get the error "
The roll of labels or tape inside the machine does not match the one selected in the application"
-This is the same roll I've been using, it is 2 3/7" continous roll. The error message claims it's a
1.1" x 3.5" roll.
- When I open the Brother editor software, and click "check media", it comes up with the correct size,
so it seems there is a problem with the Ebay or Adobe software recognizing what's in the printer.
I've tried re-installing the Brother software, re-installing Google Chrome, a different browser (Explorer),
nothing worked.
-I do have Brother QL 550 selected in Printer Prefences in the Ebay menu (Ql 700 not listed)
-Called Ebay tech support, talked to 3 different people, they had no idea what I was talking about.
-Yes, I know about checking the pins in the printer and holes on the roll supporter, that's not the problem
Again, this was working fine, nothing changed on my end as far as I know. Any help would be apreciated Thanks.

From the Control Panel, check that the correct size label is selected.
Are you sure Chrome is opening the label preview with Adobe and not its built in reader?
Also check the following:
In Chrome, go to the “Menu” icon, then choose “Settings“.
Scroll to the bottom and select “Advanced“.
In the “Privacy and Security” section, select “Content settings“.
Scroll down and select “PDF documents“, then switch it to “On“.
If still a problem come back with the OS you are using and if possible a screen shot of the label preview.

Thank you for that....I went through all those steps, and it was set to "off"; I turned it on, but I can't try it yet until somebody buys something (I don't sell much, so may take a while). I really, really wish Ebay had
a way to print sample labels, without having to have somebody buy something, so printing issues can be trouble-shot without having to reprint, void & repurchase labels constantly to get it to work.

Thank you for replying; tried all that and still doesn't work.

By turning that "on" you will now download and open files with Adobe, which hopefully will fix your problem. Next time you create a label, if you don't have one to try to reprint now, when the Adobe label preview opens, make sure Size is set to Actual and Orientation is set to Auto.
When you try it, make sure the label preview looks correct, then try to print it. Then come back and let us know whether it worked, or if same or different problem.

Thank you! I hope somebody buys something soon so I can try (I'm not very good at selling, but that's a topic for another day)

Have you tried going to Shipping Labels and reprinting an old label from a previous sale? That's what I do when I need to check for correct printing when necessary.

Great, glad you got it going.
Sometimes when a browser is updated this type of setting gets returned to its default. Also always better to update a browser and then update Adobe in that order.

Chrome is notorious for not staying set to Adobe, but there are always new workarounds popping up on a Google search or even on the Abode website.
One reason I use Firefox, is it rarely ever has an issue, and has always seemed the most compatible with ebay and PayPal year after year. While Chrome often has a new problem with every other update.
