Hi all sellers
I am attaching evidence that ebay sponsored listings are definitely blocked by most ad blockers out there, even when ebay "claimed" sponsored listings will not be affected. Please see attached pictures below. Top is with ad blocker activated. Bottom is without. I am searching the exact same sponsored item number. It yields two different results.
Any solution from ebay!??! are they going to work on it? It's completely screwing up seller's performance.
This is with ad blocker,
Below is without ad blocker,

Well since like 80% of seller uses PL, that means you will only be seeing like 20% of potential listings. Ebay made an announcement about a year ago that they will no longer show both sponsored and non sponsored versions of the same listing. So your ad blocker IS blocking true search result..

I will have to look back too. I remember seeing that in one of the seller's update, maybe a year ago..? Ebay was saying the non sponsored version of listing will no longer appear in search result if that listing is being promoted (sponsored)..

I believe you are not wrong. I used ad blockers to block unrelated ads or pop up ads that have nothing to do with my search result..definitely not on related results...

How many sellers sensing that promotions were not working, raised the rate only to pay a much higher commission? I know I did in 2020 for example when every one was supposedly buying online,. I couldn't get any sales. I was running promos at 33% just to get a sale. I smell class action.....

Where do you get those numbers from, may I ask? If I had to guess, I would have said maybe 10%, but again thats just a guess. I certainly never used them when actively selling here, nor do any other sellers I know IRL.

Thanks Velvet...........so that confirms if PL is supposed to be shown (but blocked by ad blocker), the duplicate listing will not be shown either..........
Too bad ebay couldn't do a popup warning to buyers like so many sites do today, advising them to turn off ad blockers for "best experience".........

If I turn off my ad blocker then the pages won't load at all so I guess my best experience would be no experience. My DSL is so slow and pathetic that I have to use an ad blocker just to get the pages to open without waiting 15 minutes for each page.

You should still be able to use an ad blocker and see sponsored or promoted listings.
eBay seems to only block the organic version of some sponsored listings when searching using Best Match, so avoiding using the Best Match sort order should allow you to see sponsored listings. Other sort orders do not appear to block those listings.
Or you can disable just the "anti-circumvention" filters of your ad blocker to allow sponsored listings to appear and still block other ads. In Ad Block Plus those filters are referred to as "ABP filters"; in Ad Block the filters are referred to as "Anti-circumvention filters". Other ad blockers I have tested do not seem to use those filters, at least not by default.

Thank god. Promoted and sponsored listings have ruined the site for those of us who used to use it to find and see high end junk. Now it's just the on-line walmart of cheap Chinese manufactured junk--whoo hoo, just what you all wanted. Good luck with your plastic poisoning and cancer riddled body.
