I have been a seller on eBay for years and some time ago I sold an item on eBay of which they refused to release the proceeds to Paypal my normal method. Instead, they requested my personal bank information which I refused seeing that it is a joint account. In the meantime, I have suggested either granting me credit or placing the proceeds on my credit card or just depositing it as they have always done to Paypal. Ebay still refuses to release the proceeds and also removed me from selling. Has anyone else had this problem?

You must sign up for "Managed Payments" in order to get paid for what you sold. Payments are now deposited directly into your checking account.

The days of money going into your Paypal account are over.

Since you refused to sign up for Managed Payments you cannot get paid.

Since you have refused to supply a checking account for payment, you cannot be paid.

eBays payment processor does not deposit money in PayPal.

PayPal is no longer used as a payment processor. 

As you can see you refused to complete the seller requirements for payment and can no longer sell.

Eventually your funds will be sent to your states unclaimed money department, and you can claim it through there. 

eBays payment processor, Ayden, requires a check account.

Just the ones that don't sign up for Managed Payments, so they can be paid.

Pay Pal is no longer an option for sellers.

After a few months, the funds will be sent to your states unclaimed property and you can get it from them.

I agree. I felt as if I were trapped. They allowed me to sell my item but garnered the profit and then told me they no longer work with Paypal.

I did have managed payments through PayPal and I believe in their initial instructions those who had Paypal needed to do nothing.  Why would they let me sell if there wasn't a payment method? Sounds like larceny to me.

So why not just open up a new and separate checking account, exclusively for your eBay payouts & payments?

Managed Payments on eBay has been discussed regularly for at least the last 2 or 3 years -- where ya been?!?

It only reeks of entrapment to those who ignored the months and months of emails and ebay notices warning you of the consequences of not signing up by the deadline. And the deadline was at least 6 months from when the notices started. So if you (and others) ignored those messages, that's on you.

No it was just known as Paypal.  Managed Payments [MP] is the program Ebay started about 4 years ago.  The first couple of years it was a limited number of sellers in the program.  Then July of 2020 they started onboarding sellers in large groups in MP with a goal of having all sellers in MP by the end of 2021.  

Do you use the Mobile App to sell?  I ask because it only recently came to my attention that for some sellers the need to register for MP is not center on your screen when you go get started selling again, you would actually have to scroll right to see it.

If you got months and months of emails then count yourself lucky. I knew about Managed Payments because I read all the Seller Updates and I spend way more time on these boards than a normal person does (the amount of people who check these boards are a grain of sand compared to a beach).

The first email/message in Seller Hub that I received from eBay came in May 2021 telling me I needed to sign up for Managed Payments in May 2021. I got no 6 months deadline. I have a few friends who also sell on eBay and they did not get notices until they were required to sign up. Luckily I had an old bank account at a regular bank I could use because I cannot use the credit union savings account I've always used with PayPal. And trust me, if eBay messes with that bank account I do know the way to San Jose.

I agree.  To my knowledge it was only the first round of sellers entering MP after the Ebay/Paypal spin off contract ended that got multiple emails.  I was among that group.  My first email from Ebay was in about April of 2020 letting me know that in July I would be entering MP.  There were several emails after that and I was then finally required to register is August of 2020.

As far as I know after that, sellers were notified about 3-4 weeks before they were required to register.  As time marched on in this process of onboarding the emails had less and less of a window for when the seller was to register.  To finally when sellers were notified they were expected to register right away.  

At least this is what I remember of the process.

Sadly for many Casual sellers that have been away from selling for quite a while, they either didn't read the email or emails notifying them and likely never paid attention to Seller Update emails either.  That of course is the fault of the Casual seller as we all know it is not in your best interest to ignore these emails..  And clearly some are finding this out the hard way.
