For those of us who hate this new ebay system. Boycott your purchases. Nobody purchase for a month see if they fold. I don't know about anyone else but this has been real sucky. It seems that I have to ship before I get paid. Also they outright lied to us. They said turnaround would be 2 days when it is proving to be 3-4 days. which means if I sell something thursday night, I don't get paid til the following wednesday or tursday. I don't know about you all but I feel really screwed by ebay. I have been on here for 20 years. I am boy\cotting. rally around this. Stand up for ourselves.

I think they made their last mistake anyway.  Algorithms hide results.  China sellers are gone or its 3 months to get an item at 50% chance it comes.  And they are going to lose a lot of American sellers doing  this.  What is going to be here to buy?  Sellers are going to list items on places that either don't require bank linking or go to Amazon since you can have items shipped by them and other perks.

I agree with you! I am not going to buy anything! I am am also going to quit selling after my last two auctions end. I got in a big scrap with them via chat. They are forcing us to do this because they want to control every aspect of our lives. Look out people this is just the beginning of the end. After my last two auctions close I will be deleting my account and moving to another sight. Boycott eBay now make them close and learn their lesson . I HOPE they FOLD!!!

Boycotts only work when you have a choice. You have no choice here, except to not do business with Ebay. And that can work as a form of boycott, but the result will simply be Ebay going out of business rather than changing policy. The reason is that Ebay will never know why a given customer stopped selling, much less change their policies over it.

The problem with Ebay not collecting tax on shipping is that we'd all be back to the $0.01 listings with $19.99 shipping so buyers and sellers can avoid the tax. I agree in principle though - Ebay should absolutely not be charging tax on shipping. 

FWIW - Ebay is also counting the tax they collected on your behalf in your gross sales. This means if the tax rate were 10% and you sold $10,000 worth of goods, your gross sales reflect $11,000, rather than $10,000. This is important, because businesses pay federal taxes on gross sales. And sure, you can deduct the tax paid to states, but your business has to meet minimum thresholds to itemize in such a way. Think of similar to SALT deductions for individuals.

Oh, my. You think businesses pay tax on gross sales? Seriously? Businesses pay tax on profit, not gross sales. Sales tax is a pass-through that gets deducted from the gross.

I hope you pay an accountant to do your taxes.

WHY CANT WE JUST STOP SELLING ON EBAY FOR 30 DAYS. THEY COUKD CARE LESS ABOUT THE SMALL SELLERS.  THE MOM AND POPS AND PEOPLE GETTING BY.   I WOULD STOP.I’M STOPPING ANYWAY ! WHY DONT BOYCOTTS WORK? WE NEED TO START SOME ACTION!  Need some help here, from those with experience

All it would take is a nationwide boycott for 7 days to bring ebay to heel. We make ebay what it is. Managed payments needs to go away. 5-7 days to get paid???

I've been selling and buying from ebay for 21 years! Account opened in 2000. My last selling experience was so bad that I'm walking away from 20 years of community and equity because of this horrible new system. This isn't some luddite, mad at change here, I love change, when it's for the better but this is horrible. I've been waiting on payment for over 3 weeks now and this is my mortgage money we're talking about here. How can they justify withholding funds for things we sold?! Now they can't verify my account info?!?!?! 21 YEAR OLD ACCOUNT and you can't verify who I am?!
