I just received this email stating that I own money, but the email account that received this message has never been associated with Ebay. I'm sure I owe no money so I can only guess that this isn't legitimate.

If anyone else gets an email like this, I highly recommend that you don't click any links on the email, nor should you call the number. If you're in doubt, I recommend logging into your Ebay account directly and use the contact info provided to get in touch with Ebay directly for any questions.

It's totally fake.

PayPal knows your name. You don't owe PayPal money.

PayPal no longer has phone support. When I needed to call PayPal in the past I got the number from paypal.com. Now you have to email them and they contact you. Their number is no longer on their site.

Very funny they say contact them at that number or you won't be able to conduct any more business with PayPal. That's a hoot.

One time I got a call saying if I didn't respond with a mortgage payment to Royal Bank in Canada by 5 pm that I would be arrested. Yes, arrested. LOL I never heard of RBC and my mtg was paid off in 2001.

The things those scammers will try amaze me.

Another classic SCAM. As stated, they don't even know your name. There have been a lot of paypal you owe money scams. They re emerge every few years. Even the black money/ wash wash scam I suspect will come back some day.

It’s a scam. Phishing attempt to get your payment information.You can forward that email to spoof@paypal.com.

I've been receving numerous emails like that for the past week or so. No response on my side as I know is fake, however, I've also received responses from other recipients asking what is this, _uck off, dont bother. etc.
