Payout options

I recently learned that eBay took away 3rd parties as payouts like PayPal. It make me furious that I can’t choose to have my money sent there that eBay is demanding my bank info or card details. Im not doing that, that’s wrong. PayPal has always been safe and secure that’s why I use it and to avoid giving eBay my personal info like that. But here’s the kicker they let you use PayPal to buy things but not to sell?? I will be selling my items elsewhere this is not good. I’ve used eBay for over 25 years and this is the thanks and other long time users get. Good way to loose customers. i will not be using ebay anymore because of this. @ebay

Re: Payout options

You should know that almost ALL places work this way now- give the Checking Account info or don't sell.

Re: Payout options

Pay Pal hasn't been used to pay sellers for a few years now.

Wouldn't having your money sent to your bank be safe and secure?

Have a great day.

Re: Payout options

It has been more than a few years since they used Pay-Pal for payouts along with new or returning sellers having their payouts being held for up to 30 days, could be longer in some cases. If you do decide to sell here, I would suggest you refamiliarize yourself with how things are currently operated which would include how and what selling fees are charged on.

Re: Payout options

This really has nothing to do with Ebay....they are just complying with ignorant new laws passed by congress over the last few years. If it makes you mad, I suggest writing your elected officials....every day if you have the time. Let them know how you feel....and when election day comes around, remember their responses back to you.

Re: Payout options

I’m not sure how providing my private bank information or card info is in any way safe to give to eBay? That’s how you get hacked and loose everything. My father already tried using his debit card and his account got drained from buying on eBay using that method. PayPal protects the seller and the buyer.

Re: Payout options

Laws? I’ve never heard of any laws forcing selling markets to make it illegal for them to use 3rd party payout methods. That’s news to me. That doesn’t sound adequate and sounds like it’s against the free market monopoly system.

If you open a new checking account to use for eBay, you do not need to give eBay access to your main checking account.

Re: Payout options

I guess you think that giving Paypal all your banking information (a company that holds things on a server/computer system) is any safer than your Bank, your Insurance Company...heck, even the Credit Bureaus that have ALL your info??

Re: Payout options

Since the early 2000s never had an issue with it and has earned my trust. eBay the entity itself has not. And the fact that they decided to take control of it and part ways is a red flag to me. I’m not against the option I’m against the fact they made it their only option and pick and chooses to let people buy thru it but not let PayPal handle the transaction? That’s a bit backwards. Baffles me there’s so many of you that want to back up a corporation rather than making it a true fair market and avoid scams. PayPal provided an even fair trade, eBay can now just go snag **bleep** out of your account when they feel fit. Why give them that power? “eBay doesn’t hold any of your information” you really believe that? Someone said make a different checking account? Why would I go thru that work when that was the literal point of PayPal? I mean come on guys were suppose to be making things easier in life not make it more complicated in this generation. I’ll stick to fb market this is bogus.

They could do that when Pay Pal processed payments.

Have a great day.

Re: Payout options

it's not complicated for the vast majority of users. seems like something you have all azz backwardz but are expecting everyone else to adapt to.

Re: Payout options

Pay-Pal is just a 3rd party money handling service, it is not a bank. If you wanted to move your money from pay-pal to your checking account, you would have to had to provide your account number.

Arguing with everyone here will not change the facts that this is how it now works, so all this talk about how great Pay-Pal is, is pointless, it isn't going to change.

No one is forcing you to sell here.

Have a nice New Year!

The only bank information you give them is the exact same information that is on the bottom of every single check that you write.
