Opt out of managed payments, go back to only accepting PayPal

I hate managed payments and I want to go back to getting money for my sales via PayPal.

I am not a professional seller. I only need eBay to sell things I no longer need. Now, I have to enter my Social Security Number to verify my bank, which is absolutely ridiculous. Why would I give my SSN to a ecommerce website? To make matters worse the fees have actually gone UP! I just sold a pair of headphones for $65 and the fee collected was $8.33 or 12.8%, more expensive than it used to be. Why change something when there was nothing wrong in the first place?

Is there a way to opt out of managed payments and only accept PayPal?

seller can opt out. Just ask a managed payments representative, or a few, until you get the one who agrees to file the form for you.  all abroad seller the MP system dont excist use only paypal

This is not accurate.  Other countries are being onboarded.  In some countries it will not be exactly as it is here in the US, but they will still move into MP for their country.

On these forums we are not supposed to advise any competitors for online sales sites. You will have to check out options for yourself, sorry

Fine.  If ebay demands to manage my payments let them.  I want them deposited in my PayPal account.  Why can't I do that?  You can deposit in my bank but not PayPal?  That seems a little odd.

Because by federal law MP is required to deposit into a Bank Account.

Paypal is NOT a bank.  They are a money processor.

Re: Opt out of managed payments, go back to only accepting PayPal

the fee load is pretty much a push from what I am seeing.  No appreciable savings noted.  What is different is on the eBay side where they capture all the fees from the entire transaction now rather than having PayPal take their portion.

Re: Opt out of managed payments, go back to only accepting PayPal

The transaction stream in Managed Payments as I understand it goes something like this....

1:  Buyer pays on eBay's site using whatever payment method they want.

2: eBay sends payment details to Ayden

3: Ayden processes the payment like any merchant account.

3A:  Ayden sends request for authorization to the buyers financial institution

3B:  Buyers bank issues approval code to Ayden for the transaction amount.

3C:  Ayden settles the authorization by invoice and receives funds from buyer's bank.

3D:  Ayden takes a fee from this settled amount and sweeps the remaining balance from their account to eBay's account.

4:  eBay receives funds from Ayden (not sure how long it takes for clearance to occur here).

5:  once the funds are deposited in eBay's account, they can show it as "received buyer's payment" to the seller.

6:  "the float".....this is the period when eBay is in physical custody of the money.   Its in their account, free and clear from Ayden....but not yet submitted for deposit to the seller's checking acccount via ACH transaction.  eBay can chose to just let it sit in their account and do nothing or use that money for overnight CD's that almost every large business does to earn fractional interest.

7:  eBay pays the seller via their payout schedule and sends the money (less the eBay fees & the .30 transaction fee) to the seller's checking account via ACH transfer.

8:  The money shows as deposited in the sellers checking account and is part of their available balance at their bank.
