WHY Ebay delete massive bad feedbacks written by buyers to protect scam sellers?

I just found out Ebay had delete massive bad feedbacks written by buyers to protect scam sellers. This seller now become 97% from previously 95% feedback percentage.

Ebay always asked us all to watch sellers feedback percentage before buying but now ebay play this game and helped scam sellers to keep scamming buyers.

What is the feedback for and why buyers waste our precious time to write feedbacks when these feedbacks will be deleted later by Ebay.

Scam sellers also will be more arrogant and daring to scam buyers after supported by Ebay!

Why Ebay had started to protect scam sellers and going against buyers? Is it time to change away from Ebay to other sources?

Can you provide us with more details on the content of the feedback?

Perhaps the feedback was considered as having offensive language ?

Inappropriate based on ebay feedback policies?

I agree it can be true. Last week I bought a car for 7799 pounds from, in ebay opinion - very trust seller. I should have it last Saturday but there is still nothing and the seller is no responding my emails.

It was the scam.

I lost my money, have no contact with seller or shipping company and as I can see that seller is still on ebay with red star and 100% positive feedback.

Now I even can't write negative feedback for him, because he took down already that auction and I have no option with that.

Wow, the OP has 511 bid retractions in the last year and the whole first page of feedback left for others is negatives.

I think you have bigger issues than some of your feedback left being removed.  Perhaps Ebay is not really for you.

When a buyer is clearly abusing the feedback process eBay does tend to frown on it and remove the buyers feedback. 166 negative fb is abusive and excessive

Are you sure the feedback wasn't in violation of eBay's TOS? Feedback containing offensive language would certainly be deleted upon the seller's request. (Although if I'm not mistaken, the buyer would still have the option to leave revised feedback if they wish to do so.) I believe feedback can also be removed if it reveals personal information, or details about a Resolution Center case or outcome. Many buyers probably don't realize this.

Did you actually purchase the car ON EBAY? Or did you see an ad elsewhere saying the car was being sold through Ebay? Ebay does not have a shipping company. Ebay does not have a warehouse. I fear you have fallen for a common car scam.

The easier you are to offend the easier you are to control.

WHY Ebay delete massive bad feedbacks written by buyers to protect scam sellers?

@benxsg,

"I just found out Ebay had delete massive bad feedbacks written by buyers to protect scam sellers. This seller now become 97% from previously 95% feedback percentage"

Feedback percentages are based on rolling 12 month totals.  It looks like your seller had several time out after 12 months.  That is why their percentage was raised.  The feedback are still there but no longer count after 12 months.

"Ebay always asked us all to watch sellers feedback percentage before buying but now ebay play this game and helped scam sellers to keep scamming buyers"

Actually ebay shows a seller's percentage, but it is up to you as a buyer to look at their feedback profile, to see what issues they have.  On a profile page, you can click on the numbers of neutral and negative feedback to read only those comments.

ebay's bar for a good high volume seller is 99.6%, or better.  A seller who has a percentage of 95% is one you should have avoided.

"What is the feedback for and why buyers waste our precious time to write feedbacks when these feedbacks will be deleted later by Ebay"

eBay's feedback system does work, but you have to use all of the tools they provide. The two feedback you left for the seller are there for others to read, and will be for the next 11 months.

You also seem to need to read the terms of ebay's Money Back Guarantee.  If you had you would know that you have 30 days from the last estimated delivery date, to open an item not received dispute, and when dealing with chinese sellers never wait, or accept them sending a replacement as a solution. Always ask for a refund. Never wait longer than 30 days from opening a dispute, or close a dispute, until you have either the item or a refund.

"Why Ebay had started to protect scam sellers and going against buyers?"

Actually eBay does protect buyers very well, and gives sellers very few protections. However, buyers who do not use some of their "Precious Time" to learn how the protections work, will get scammed.

It would seem you need to look up eBay's policy on bid retractions. There are only 3 reasons why bids can be legitimately retracted, and I doubt you entered the wrong price 512 times in the last 12 months.

But after ebay deleted all those bad feedbacks and raised seller percentage, all these percentages are all lies. They can just ask ebay to raise from 95% to 99.6% in 1 day! So whats the point to look at that nonsense percentage which is useless?

You are correect here, never wait for lies on resend because they always use this to delay. But then after ebay deleted all these buyers feedbacks, its useless to write feedbacks for others to read. Ebay will delete feedbacks from 1 day old to 12 months old. Mine was 1 week old!

Ebay deleted the feedbacks from buyers means they scam and let scam seller still scam buyers.

There was a transaction that ebay keep postpone in resolution although seller do not refund in resolution. When 1 officer postponed it, the others cannot do anything but to support their own colleagues faults.

Agreed. Ebay should be shutting this type of thing down.....period. It benefits no one to allow this type of thing to continue and I`ve seen a lot of it over the years. It`s blatant abuse.

Well it should make you feel better that all the other negative feedback you have ever left is still there.

Frankly I wish eBay would ban this type of buyer all together because they have nothing nice to say about anybody!

Scam.  Throwing the word around does not make it true, and indeed does not show yourself in a good light.  People are trying to explain to you how things work.

Then why my feedback written last week was deleted too? That means what you are writing here are wrong.

Perhaps your feedback violated policy.  Words and wording is important.

There was a transaction that ebay keep postpone in resolution although seller do not refund in resolution. When 1 officer postponed it, the others cannot do anything but to support their own colleagues faults.

There is a procedure, a series of steps, which should be taken to insure that buyers and sellers alike are (hopefully) represented when there is an issue.  If eBay "postpones" resolution, it is generally to allow more time to gather information.  One representative should not override another if information is being gathered because to do so would not only break policy, but it would show partiality to one party over the other - which neutralizes the resolution.

But after ebay deleted all those bad feedbacks and raised seller percentage, all these percentages are all lies. They can just ask ebay to raise from 95% to 99.6% in 1 day! So whats the point to look at that nonsense percentage which is useless?

NO ONE can "ask eBay to raise from" X% to Y%.  That's not how it works.  In fact, the metrics are considerably more skewed than that.

A seller can only leave positive feedback for a buyer, even if the buyer "scammed" them out of money or was otherwise dishonest, ill-tempered, or unpleasant.  A buyer, regardless of truth, has 100% positive feedback and always will.  Are you angry that a buyer's "nonsense percentage" is useless, as well?

YIKES No kidding, PLEASE DO, I CAN EVEN PAY FOR AN UBER FOR YOU IF YOU NEED ONE. Let me ask just one thing, did you buy ANYTHING this past month that worked out? And if you purchased something from a seller you previously have identified as a scammer, why o why, would you attempt to purchase again from the same "scammer"?

And exactly how does one average roughly 2 bid retractions A DAY FOR AN ENTIRE YEAR? Just really curious what you encounter that would require such drastic measures that you are willing to take repeatedly multiple times per day.

Quite Strange.
