Unexpectedly won an auction.  Seems there were no other bids. Odd because its a popular item. Not a great deal of money $22 + post

but Im wary.

Seller has 99% postive feedback but some look like repeats and many are similar.

Any way I can check they wont empty my bank account? (Im using paypal)

The entire point of Paypal is: Using paypal keeps anyone from ever seeing 'what you used' to pay for the item. PP uses bank, credit card, debit card etc. but the buyer, nor eBay, knows WHAT you used, much less the NUMBERS from what you used.

Of course you can keep them from emptying your bank account.   Simply pay through eBay checkout (you can do so funding the payment with your PayPal account thereby adding another layer of protection).  Check to see if the listing says the item is covered by the Money Back Guarantee (if not come back and give us the item number so we can see why).  Any "trust" issues should be cleared up before you bid, not after you "unexpectedly win".

Many auctions go with only 1 bidder.  If the seller knows what s/he is doing s/he set the Starting Price at the least s/he was willing to sell for.

Thanks woodlandgnome

I am paying in the ways you suggest. But hey, be gentle. Not experienced here.

A seller cannot empty your bank account.   The seller never gets to see your paypal address.
