Shipped-- No Tracking ?

Hello all & happy Labor Day !   I recently purchased 2 items --shoes and an exhaust pipe and both are marked as economy shipped with no tracking.  Bought many an item from eBay and never saw that before or is just old age  catching up that I did not see this ?  Enjoy the weekend !

@muckin_0 was this just in the last couple days and if so, was tracking later uploaded?

It's always been true that sellers can mark an item as shipped with no tracking (though not advisable for many reasons) but I'm guessing we might see it happening more often now because of the new cancellation policies.

Here is another thread on this topic.  Perhaps it is a new eBay "improvement, enhancement, streamlined version, etc."  to make eBay better for both buyers and sellers.

This shipped without tracking is sometimes the result of a scammer who will never ship.

It can sometimes be a sign of a seller who is having the order drop shipped from someone else. They may update the order later to include tracking, when and if their dropshipper provides them with tracking.

It may also be laziness.

It is unlikely to be anything Ebay has done since Ebay rates sellers based, in part, on tracking.

I'd bet on your exhaust pipe being dropshipped. There are thousands of autoparts sellers who are living out of their supplier's inventories and having product dropshipped. You may get your part, perhaps a little late, but if it is the wrong part, you can expect a hassle.
