AWAITING SHIPMENT/SHIPPED UNTRACKED

I'm seeing something recently that I've never seen before and it makes no sense. In my purchase list, above items that haven not been shipped, it says, "awaiting shipment". Then below that it says "shipped untracked" which makes it sound like the items were in fact shipped, but without tracking. I've communicated with the sellers who verify that the items haven't shipped yet, so what's up with this? I also called eBay and a rep said, "I've seen that before." but had no explanation. When I saw this for the first time I contacted a seller to ask why he had shipped without tracking when he hadn't. It's confusing.

Another weird thing: There's a button beside every item in the purchase list that let's you view the details. Normally, when you click this, you see just THAT item, but now, multiple items will show up if they were purchased on the same date. An eBay rep even got confused, he insisted that I had tracking for an item when what he was actually looking at was a different item that had the same purchase date. When I got him to scroll further down he could see the item that I hd inquired about and it had no tracking. These are glitches, right? They must be, I don't see the benefit otherwise.

 I've seen that "shipped not tracked" on a purchase I made. Turned out the seller was drop shipping from Amazon my item was delivered by amazon. Unfortunately, the seller is now NARU.

I am not saying that this is what is going on with your purchases just letting you know what I have experienced.

I never had this before, ever. Now on 2 orders, one after another, I see the same status. It must be some new ebay thing.

"shipped(untracked)"....I made a purchase with my usual seller yesterday...it is something new on some but not others. I made another regular purchase yesterday with my usual seller and it doesn't have it.

It's not drop-shipping by Amazon.

Sellers can mark item as 'shipped'

Sellers are NOT required to 'ship things using tracking'

My guess, this is just a way of communicating that to a buyer (before it would just say 'shipped' and if you wanted to 'track' the item, you couldn't.

Idk what they did, but it says it under all my items that haven't shipped yet. I can see how this could be confusing for newer buyers.

All of my purchases since 8/22 are showing at the top above order date " Awaiting Shipment" but under that it shows "Shipped Untracked" and then the estimated delivery date.  I have purchased from most of these sellers in the past and the items were sent with tracking.

All the buyers (above) should have an estimated delivery date shown on your orders. 

If that date comes and goes without receiving the items, go back to the order and open a claim for INR.

i was looking for someone to mention this LOL all of my purchases say "shipped (untracked)" for some reason, and then when the shipper gives a tracking number it updates. i don't know if this is their new default for some reason but it's annoying. i'm also a seller and i don't want my buyers to think i'm shipping their things without a tracking number, especially since newer buyers may be confused and my buyers pay for shipping. i sometimes have buyers who make their ebay account the same day they purchased my items. 

i hope this is just a glitch and it gets fixed soon!

Just another stupid unnecessary change by eBay I assume. It seems to me that the moment an item is purchased the status goes to 'Dispatched (Untracked):' before it is even possible for the seller to have posted it. It may get updated later but what a pathetic situation so why does eBay immediately mark it as dispatched when it probably hasn't been ????????? IF MY ASSUMPTION IS WRONG EBAY PLEASE EXPLAIN.

The same thing is happening to me!  All of my recent purchases say "Awaiting Shipment" and "Shipped Untracked" directly below it.  One of them is over a week old and the seller lives less than 50 miles from me.  I've contacted the seller and they haven't responded.  The "Estimated Delivery Date" has come and gone.

Prior to this, vitrtually everything I purchased would have tracking information within 24 hours.  I find it odd that my last three purchases (all of which were several days ago), are all not shipped yet.  It seems very strange.

There is a randomness to it, not all my purchases are showing this for very similar used items.

There is a compulsive need for humans to mess with things that are currently working quite for some reason.

Job security in this case?

I totally agree...If shipping without tracking is the new ebay norm I am sorry I no longer will be shopping with eBay..I bought a book on eBay  yesterday and today I see no tracking.I have spent money on items on eBay and  to this day I have never received them.. This is creating mistrust and the opportunity for FRAUD.

Tracking is not required.

It is a Seller Protection against false claims of non-delivery and eBay rewards sellers who use it with a slight uptick in visibility.

As a BUYER, you are protected by eBay's Money Back Guarantee.

If your purchase does not arrive by the last estimated date eBay gives you, you can Claim a refund.

Tracking does not speed up delivery, nor does it guarantee gentle handling in transit.

The only benefit to buyers is that most untracked shipping is cheaper than tracked shipping.

Mark the last estimated date for delivery on your calendar and relax. It will arrive.
