I bought an item from a seller. It arrived but the labels were from a different seller on Amazon. The eBay seller had given my name and address to a seller on a different platform that I didn’t have a transaction with! I had to return it because it didn’t work the return labels had been personally emailed to me because they were from Amazon.
I left negative feedback because it came from Amazon. Totally misrepresented where and who it was coming from. Now seller has asked that I change the feedback so it doesn’t negatively affect them.
How do I report the seller and not just the item?

Did you get exactly what you ordered?
Was it in the condition it was promised?
Did it arrive on time?
Did you pay the price you agreed on when you clicked the buy button?
You'll get lots of opinion but the FACT is that the seller did not violate ANY eBay policy so there is nothing to report.
If you want to report them to Amazon feel free, it's won't mean anything to them either since a sale is a sale.

You were dealing with a self-styled dropshipper. Basically, they copy a listing from another ecommerce site, jack up the price a bit, and present it as their own listing. Not only is the practice deceitfu and misleading, it's risky as the dropshipper counts on the item remaining in stock, and if using Amazon, often takes advantage of his prime membership for free expedited shipping, which is a violation.

There is nothing to report here, sorry. While I understand your feelings, there is no policy that says a seller cannot drop ship from elsewhere.
Some sellers who dropship will say something like, item ships from our warehouse, which is then a clue. Some will say the item will come from our supplier. But some don't say anything.
It could be that the seller was out of your item and so ordered it from another seller on Amazon so that the transaction could be completed. Or they are dropshipping from a totally different seller, period.
My feelings are if I wanted to buy from Amazon, I would have. I got a great gift idea a few years ago at the beginning of Dec. To be sure to get the item quickly, knowing that the mails would be busier than usual, I checked both Amazon and Ebay for the quickest delivery estimates. The price of the item on Ebay was more but promised faster delivery, so I bought on Ebay (which is what I usually do). Item came from Amazon as a gift! It was NOT a gift, I paid for the item. I emailed the seller and said that if I wanted to buy from Amazon, I would have; I bought from Ebay even though your price was higher because you had a faster delivery time!
So nothing to report the seller for. You don't have to revise your feedback if you don't want to.

Nothing to report. It is totally permissible for sellers to drop ship on eBay.
By the way, your negative makes no sense. What do you mean by the didn't work comment?

Your seller is actually in Indonesia, drop shipping from Amazon..nothing to report..its allowed.

Right. Not reportable but stupid and tacky on so many levels.

They could be one in the same. I have received something from A I ordered here (so I'm thinking the fulfilment center also ships on behalf of individual sellers). What I ordered certainly didn't warrant a negative. I suspect its basically sort of a drop ship type deal

As you can see, few here have much regard for personal privacy and are OK with sellers compromising yours at will.
At least you left the Neg. That's a start.
If enough people do that, maybe sellers will think twice about doing what yours did.

I'm guessing the item didn't work, since the OP says
" I had to return it because it didn’t work the return labels had been personally emailed to me because they were from Amazon. "

I'm not sure how you figured that the seller compromised the OP's privacy. If giving the name and address of the buyer to a drop shipper does so, would giving it to any carrier such USPS, UPS or FedEx be tantamount to the same thing?
Frankly, it reminds me of people that worry so much about people getting their checking account information, but think nothing about paying their bills by writing a check and sending it through the mail. If you come to think about it, the simple act of paying someone with a check, gives them not only the name of your bank, but also your account number, routing number and a sample of your signature.

In that case, opening a SNAD would result in a better resolution than leaving the feedback that was left, in my opinion.

When you buy anything on eBay you are giving the same information (Name/Address) to every seller you deal with and almost anyone can set up a seller account on eBay. The delivery service also gets your name and address. If the seller is dropshipping from a fullfilment warehouse where they store their own goods or direct from the manufacturer those people also get you name and address.
If you are that loathe to give out your name and address perhaps you should not buy online or at least not from an online marketplace like eBay or Amazon or WalMart or Etsy or.........

So funny you should post that. I just posted a question to a seller asking how tall a doll was that he was selling. He said he would have to get back to me as he needs to check with someone at his warehouse.
Dropshipper. And thank you but I am no longer interested.
I don't dropship.
I do have a warehouse in another location.
If I had that question I would give pretty much the same answer "I'll have to check the warehouse and get back to you".
