I tried escalating a case this morning by asking Ebay to "Step in", but I was repeatedly sent to an error page saying, "Oops, we had a technical hiccup. Please try again later". I did just that, and I still had the same message. I tried another browser, but still had the same problem. Now, Ebay closed my case without resolution. When I tried to appeal the closure and explain the issues, submitting my appeal sent me to a blank page with a loading circle graphic that does nothing. No message at all, it just stays stuck. What should I do? My problems keep stacking.

What kind of case are you trying to open? Are you past Ebays thirty day time limit? If so, you can go to Paypal.

Thank you for the quick reply.
No, my item was estimated to arrive between the 18th and the 24th, which was last friday, so I'm within the 30 days. I had ordered an item that was listed as being shipped from the US. A few days after I had placed my order, I find the listing was removed from Ebay and I was given a strange tracking number that was not recognized by any tracking company. I messaged the seller to please clear things up. There was no response from the seller, but a few days later, new shipping information appeared on Ebay, which showed a shipment coming from a international location, I believe Shenzhen, China. I was not ok with that, but I decided to wait for any possible delivery, or for my delivery time to pass, before contacting the seller. On the 24th, no delivery. On the 26th, I messaged the seller to inform them that my item had not arrived and that I wanted a full refund. A day later, I get no response from the seller. So, I opened a case with Ebay, and they messaged the seller. A few hours later, amazingly, the tracking information change, the old information was gone, I had a message stating the my item was out for delivery. Ultimately, it was deliver later that day. Great, but I don't want it now, and I'm not happy the seller for misrepresenting the item location, for the item being late, and for the game playing and the lousy communication. So, I just want a refund. I haven't even opened the package yet to see if what I order was in it. I don't want to find out what's in it because this seller is not trustworthy. Whatever the item is, I just want a full refund. If they pay shipping, they can have their item back. If it wasn't bad enough, when I tried to escalate this further with Ebay, I get these errors when I try to message their resolution center. Now, they've closed the case because nothing goes through, but I'm not settling for any of this.

So if I understand, you got the package, but now you dont want it. Chinese tracking never shows up until it reaches this country. If Ebay has closed the case, you can try opening a case at Paypal for a remorse return, but be aware you are responsible for return shipping with tracking to prove delivery to China.

I just want to add, that even if you could have opened a case at Ebay, you would still be responsible for return shipping, as this is a remorse return, in other words, you changed your mind.

open an Item not as described case. If the seller misrepresented their location, you can open an INAD case on them because of it. The seller will have a few days to get a pre paid label sent to you snd if they dont, you can ask Ebay to step in. If the seller does send the label, then ship the package back to them using that label. If the seller does not refund you in the alloted time after receiving the package back, again, ask Ebay to step in should seller not refund after the amount of days Ebay gives seller to refund

An international seller cannot furnish a return label. They are supposed to send an op funds for a return label, but Ebay cant force that. And since Ebay has closed his case and he has to file at Paypal, PP requires the buyer to pay return shipping.

Wondering if the listing was removed from eBay, how did you see the new shipping information appear on eBay, on the listing?

Also, what did you do to successfully open a case, since the listing was removed from eBay?

I can do that. I even have the previous international tracking number and the original listing information showing the item was to be shipped from the US. I can give it to whoever needs to see it. But that's not the issue I'm bringing up. What I'd like to know is, if Ebay is having problems, can't I just request that they reopen the case when it's working again? Again, there's some problem with messaging Ebay customer service, and my case was closed because of it.
I ask these questions because I think this is more than just a delivery being late or simple "remorse", I believe a seller is being fraudulent about their items and/or location. They're claiming items are shipped from the US, but the items are actually coming from other countries. Can't I at least go through the resolution center with the same case and have this investigated, or would going through PayPal have the same results?

The listing was removed from Ebay, but the item and tracking is still in my purchase history. There is a message with it saying, "We removed this listing from the site. For more information and next steps go to messages. For information about delivery, view your order details."
I believe Ebay removed it for violations.

Believe me, I understand your aggravation with the deceptive location, its very annoying. But neither Ebay nor PP will 'investigate' this seller for lying about his location..frankly, they just dont care about that. Its a daily occurence on here. And Ebay never opens a closed case..i guess you could file an appeal..but on what grounds? lying about the items location? that wont happen..on Ebay or PP.

Why should a buyer have to pay for return shipping after the seller misrepresented details??? Again, this is not just a remorse case. The seller lied about shipping. I contacted the seller about this before receiving the item and got no response. The only reason the case was closed is Ebay is broken and won't allow me to continue my case. I'm trying to appeal now, but it stills down!

What kind of case are you trying to open? you said Ebay closed the case, they wont reopen it.
04-28-2020 06:04 PM
Well, I'll try. The messaging is down, that's all. If that's not grounds for an appeal, I don't know what is.

Good luck.
