I purchased a sterling necklace on April 23,

2021. After wearing it off and on for about 10 months, I realized it was sterling plated. I emailed the seller with a photo showing the plating was worn off in places, and got no response. I have now contacted Customer Service nine times, a supervisor told me that even though it was past 30 days, since the item is obviously counterfeit, that they would still file a complaint and take care of the situation. I have heard nothing! Each time I call they say they are filing a report, and emailing the supervisor. Still Nothing! Come on, Ebay, do the right thing! I have proven that the item is counterfeit, what else is there?!

Jewelry has to be legit, as per eBay policy. https://www.ebay.com/help/policies/prohibited-restricted-items/jewelry-policy?id=4280

counterfeit merchandise is prohibited by ebay
all of the ebayers will tell you that copies are not allowed
if you want to know what ebay does about counterfeits well you just need to know that they are not allowed
ebay talks a lot about prohibited fakes but does little else besides talk about them
keep those reports coming is the ebay mantra..........doing nothing is the reality

Thank you for stating my thoughts, exactly. If they will not do the right thing, they will at least know my name, and that I do not take injustice lightly. I refuse to back down. 🤗

Why are you assuming the buyer was deceitful? Maybe they didn't know, just like you didn't know when you received it. It is after the 30 day MBG, so you just have to move on.

I'm just saying you keep mentioning eBay policy but you yourself didn't follow eBay policy.

It is the responsibility of the seller to sell legitimate, not counterfeit items, at all times. That is called integrity... fyi.
The Ebay supervisor said they would investigate due to fact it was misrepresented, even past the 30 days... so, I will take my chances with them, not you.
Thanks for the great wisdom you mustered, there, though

Beating a dead dog will not bring it to life.
Welcome to purchasing from users like you; that May have no knowledge of what they are selling: or in your case what you received.
For that mater eBay has no clue what was sent to you: nor if your claims are real or not: just like us users.
eBay can do nothing for you what so ever: try your payment method for relief.
Of course nothing we users can do about this. sorry.

I’m so sorry this happened. The metal was obviously misidentified … but that isn’t the same as being ‘counterfeit’, which has a specific meaning.
I know of no company that guarantees refunds after 10 months of ownership. Do you?
The seller may not have known that the item wasn’t sterling silver, as many sellers list items they haven’t purchased new. We don’t know whether fraud was involved.
eBay’s CS reps do their best … but they frequently make honest mistakes. [That’s one of the reasons many of us volunteer answering questions in the Community.]
Again, I’m really sorry.
