Help with a fake listing

I hope someone can help me. I am certain that the listing from which I purchased a bike was fake. I made the purchase on May 31 and I have not heard from the seller despite sending multiple messages. I have opened a case with eBay but the matter has been complicated because, somehow, the "seller" attached UPS tracking numbers to the listing showing that the item was sent and delivered. I called UPS and they confirmed that the tracking number was part of a shipment of 6 small boxes (definitely not a bike) that weren't even addressed to me. For privacy concerns, they could not tell me who they were sent to or where/who shipped the items. I guess who they were sent to is irrelevant since bikes don't  come in 6 small boxes. They only confirmed that it was not my address attached the tracking number(s). This was a next level scam and I can't believe I got taken. I am out $725. I contacted PayPal and they referred me back to eBay. Ebay's protocol is to only step in after 3 business days have passed and the seller has not responded. Apparently that date is June 11. I have sent messages to the "seller" pleading with them to send the money back. This is beside the point, but the bike was meant for someone recovering from Covid.

I guess I'm at a loss until the 11th when eBay says they will "step".  So I'm coming to the community to see if anyone has dealt with something similar and if they got their money back. I'm concerned that because they listed tracking numbers showing a delivery that eBay will not do enough digging to uncover what I uncovered about the packages.

Help!

Re: Help with a fake listing

You're hosed.  Been there, 3rd degree burns.  PayPal, no help.  eBay, no comprende, bank NAILED THEM TO THE WALL.  Law Enforcement - nothing.  Interrupted their donut break.  Use the Credit Card Company.  Never use a PayPal balance to pay for ANYTHING you can't afford to lose.  You're better off going to Saratoga in August.  Good Luck.
