I purchased two items from the same seller. As always, I paid when I purchased. I logged in a few days later and saw notifications for both items saying the listings were removed but that if I had already paid, I should receive the items. I got email notification that the items had shipped, but the tracking shows only 'tracking number provided', nothing about actual items being shipped. Checking seller's history for the last 6 months shows MULTIPLE 'item not received', 'seller not responding', etc...
Both items were paid for by paypal, no refunds issued even though they weren't shipped. Why would ebay pull 2 listings after a purchase? What tipped them off that the items weren't legitimate? Does the seller receive notification when listings are pulled, and could he be using that as an excuse to pretend to not notice he was already paid? I could ask my magic 8 ball but lately it keeps saying 'signs hazy, ask again later'.

It means that eBay finally got the memo that this guy was a fraudster. When that happens, they pull down all the listings that seller has, even the completed ones.
In in any event, you will have to wait until the estimated delivery date to file a claim for non receipt. That’s another set of hoops to jump through on a pulled listing so come back for instructions when and if you don’t receive it.

When eBay removes a listing or a seller, even if shipped --
you'll see "No estimate available" on the Order details.
If your PayPal payment is unclaimed, try to cancel it to get your refund:Otherwise, go to the bottom of your Purchase history page at eBay --
scrawl all the way down past the ads, and click More action > I don't get it:Then farrow the instructions to issue your refund or make your refund an issue.

All of the above and my suggestion is to not buy from a seller with such feedback...ever.
